when i ordered SKATE from EB Games [yesterday] the girl behind the counter said that it'll retail for $80. isn't it normally $69.99 up here in canada? does EBaskforextraifupre-orderfromthem? also, does EB get games the day of release?
but yeah. pre-ordering popular games is a smart idea. cuz then u'll have em right when they come out!indian_boy90
That cashier should be fired from that EB Games store, unless thats $80 including the tax.
People get sucked into the hype machine. The last game I pre-orded was BrueForce. (winces in pain)Giff1988
Exactly!! It serves no actual purpose for you. Now it does serve a purpose for a store. If you give them money ahead of time then you commit to buying that game from them when in it comes out. Games do not sell out. The only game I have ever seen seel out was Guitar Hero II for the 360 and all the stores still had lots of copies of the game itself just not the controller/game combo.
[QUOTE="Vyse_Legends"][QUOTE="limpbizkit818"][QUOTE="Vyse_Legends"][QUOTE="limpbizkit818"]What the? I thought I took you out with my Splinter Cell tactics yesterday?:oHow is it a waste of $5? That $5 goes to the payment of the game.
Plus if you are going to pick up a game like Halo 3 from a smaller store like Gamecrazy or EB, you better pre-order.
Vyse_Legends
And yes I agree with you.:D
O nononono, it will take much more then some toxic gas to get rid of me! :twisted:You on the other hand, shall be no more
*detonates explosives planted within your PC*
Well since I am typing this post I am going to guess that your explosiveswere a dud.Or , maybeI used my EMV goggles(or that one thing in Splinter Cell that you use to find the hot wire and cut it to stop the detonation)and stopped it from being able to detonate.;)
Well since you havent replied I am going to guess that you have given up on trying to kill me. Or maybe your still leaving more negative comments.Turned my PC off last night, come back today and this is still on the first page. But dam, you're still here too.
Note to self, never used cheap imported explosives.
But do not fear, for I shall rid you from these forums in another topic. For now, be happy you're alive.
[QUOTE="sgpicker"]dumbest post ever. obviously you don't know that the 5$ you put down goes towards the game. Plus you don't have to drive all around town looking for it.NOOBwarz989
People are so tough online...
You just happened to get a post full of users that try to make themselves feel better by bashing you. Nothing you can do about it.I have never pre-ordered a game in my life. Why do people do it? It just seems like a waste of 5$...almost always some store in my town has the copy of the game the day it debuts.

I don't know how it's like in your country but where I live, whenever shops where they demand a fee to pre-order that money is dicounted on the total afterwards, so it's not a waste of money it's the same. If, as it seems, where you live, you have to give money to pre-order, then don't.

I pre-order my games at Gamestop, but only if you get a "BONUS" freebie with it. For example:

Stay on topic...at least include the words pre-order in your posts
[QUOTE="warz989"]Hey supergamer I know its hard for you but try ever so hard to stay on topic
Someone brought up the point earlier though that what if the game you pre-ordered stinks. Can you get your five dollars back if you dont want to spend the other 55
ISuperGamerI
I know at EB Games that if you decide not to buy the Pre-Ordered game, then you can still get you're money back. I did that for Test Drive Unlimited.
Here is a little Quote for you wars989 and be sure of the PRE-ORDER part in that sentence.
I have never pre-ordered a game in my life. Why do people do it? It just seems like a waste of 5$...almost always some store in my town has the copy of the game the day it debuts.
warz989
ive never had to pay 5 bucks for it b4....preordering is good if you want the game the date it comes out cuz they probably wont have it the next day or even that same week.
Ya see, when halo 2 came out in my area, all I had to do was walk into eb the next day and buy the game. I have never had a game sell out because I live in such a small area with a small population. I guess if you live in an area with a higher population you would have to because more people means less games for everyone.warz989
yea where do you live and whats the population?
I live in Atlanta. We have just about every place imaginable to buy a videogame. The Gamestop by my house is flanked by a Target, and a Walmart. Down the road is a K mart, Best Buy, and so on. There really isnt a reason for me to reserve a game. I dont normally go for the collector addition of games. Im not interested in how they made it or the art work for it. Not to say that its not cool for others, just not me.
That being said, I do see the benefit if you live in a smaller community. But if you live in a larger area, and have a car, reserving a game is pretty much pointless.
