Halo 3 is better because the ability to customize game modes and edit maps with forge gives the game longetivity and replayability. After a while, COD4 does get redundant.
i think halo is a better game all around. i hated halo 1&2 but i like 3. CoD4 is a great single player, i think better then halos but i don't like CoD's multiplayer. i suck with sniper rifles and with the people who play more getting better equipment it gives then an unfair advantaged to newer players. with halos multiplayer it all based on skill instead of just having better equipment. so if you want single player go with CoD if you want multiplayer go with halo. nobody has topped bungies online.

Halo has one of the deepest storys ever! Did you play the first 2 games? Read any of the books??? Your treating the game like its the only one in the series. I can understand you not wanting to read the book, but Halo and Halo 2 were the best games at the time of their release, so i don't understand how you could have not played them.
i hated halo 1&2 but i like 3. Sorry for the double post, but how can you say that? During its release, Halo was considered the greatest game ever. If you can say that you hate Halo and 2, than you probably consider anything that was released before 2005 a horrible game.

cod4 for gameplay and graphics but don't expect to play campaign long enough for the story line halo for story i suppose because it's just a continuation of halo 2 which had an amazing story :] cod4 imo
oh to the little fanboy that flipped out over me hating halo 1&2 i've been playing games sense the commadore 64. halo's story is pieced together from lots of different science fiction stories its not that original. not that cod story is original i just found halos to be kind of convaluted. still i like halos multiplayer better.
Graphics: COD4 takes graphics in shooters to a new level - every leaf on every tree is crisp, and you can see the rain detail if the map is weathered. Where the faces on multi-player are not as detailed, everything is so crisp and clean! Halo 3 does demonstrate fantastic graphics, especially centering on the reflections in glass, plasmatic explosions, etc. I do believe that over-all, COD4 is superior. Gameplay: COD4 and Halo both exhibit a fantastic multiplayer. Both factions also have a very loyal following, and unsurpassed amounts of players. Personally, I say tie - depending on if you prefer futuristic fighting, or modern fighting may tip the scale, though. Story: Halo3 was a great way to finish the fight. Story-wise, though, the characters are stale and there is little room for huge surprises. COD4 scared me. It was very real. Your team-mates all had very distinct personalities, many twists and turns in your missions, and lengthy game-play. COD4 has to take it.

I'm sorry but who considered Halo the greatest game ever? Perhaps greatest FPS but even that wasn't said about the game.
Anyway I also don't get hating those games, especially if you liked the 3rd which to me, feels pretty similar to the first two ,which in no way is a bad thing.
To me i think halo is better. Ive been playing since halo 1 and halo 2. Its not the best but it certainly has good online matchmaking.
But as the majority as gamers i see. I think you would like cod4 better. It's just a good game for alot of gamers. you won't get wrong on this one for sure.
Call of Duty 4. Not because it takes more skill, has better graphics, or anything along those lines. I just like the game better than Halo 3. End of story.
I like both games about the same. I've been playing halo 3 multiplayer more often than CoD, but it's nice to have both so you can switch back and forth when you get tired of one.
