Will any game outsell Halo 3 this gen?

SSBB will because more than 80% of people with a wii will get it and GTA4 since it has a huge fan base/multiplatform.

GtaIV or Gears of war 2, more likely GTAIV since it's multi-platform. But I bet it even has a chance among 360 owners, I mean like 30% of the one's who bought Halo 3 returned it soon after (I did).

Note: These statistics are just a guess.... makes sense to me.

Im sure other games will sell more then halo 3, but not beat its day 1 #s or even 1 week #s. But games will surely sell more copies of games just over more time.gagit811

That's because the pre-orders started two years before the game's freakin release and counted as day one sales.

I would be shocked if Bungie and MS didn't come put with another Halo FPS this Generation, they just love taking our money too much not to.

A large percentage of people whom want to own a next-gen system do not. Thus, a game will inevitably outsell Halo 3 simply on the basis of common sense. In 3 years when all last-gen games have been phased out, and everyone owns a Wii/PS3/360 (in order of projected sales by that time), a game will outsell Halo 3, obviously. A multi-plat CANNOT be considered, people. We're talking about a system exclusive, so you cannot compare it with CoD4, FIFA, or Madden. Likewise, you cannot consider sales based upon one region. With that said, Final Fantasy XIII will probably set a new record for sales when it is released (compiling U.S., Japanese, and European sales). Remember, outside of the U.S., England, Canada, and Australia, no one could care less about the 360 and Halo. Now, if Square-Enix throws us another Final Fantasy IX-XII, then I retract that statement. If they give us another VI-VIII, then all hell will break loose in video game stores with overweight geeks beating each other with gun blades over copies of FF. Hahaha, FF cosplayers, always worth a laugh. Also, a casual game for the Wii may also outsell Halo 3 eventually as well, given what will be an unimaginable amount of end-users for the Wii in due time.

Gta 4 definitely will because it has a huge fan base and cause it is multi-plat. Also SSBB could outsell halo 3 because most wii owners will probably get it

I honestly doubt any game can outsell halo 3, out of the 17 million consoles MS has sold since launch, 7 million of them own Halo 3. The only game i see putting even a dent in Halo 3's gripping hold is GTA 4. Maybe even gears of war 2. Who knows, we just have to wait and see what happens

Halo 3 became the best selling video game in history because of hype, word of mouth, and mass media advertising. To outsell it you have to out hype it and out advertise it. No game comign up has done this. I don't see 30 Super Smash Brothers commercials every day or GTAIV. I don't see them advertised when I walk out my door to go grocery shopping or Brawl having its own flavor of Mountain Dew. But I did with Halo 3, and if you are not out advertising and hyping Halo 3 then you are not outselling Halo 3.

Its not a question of good game or bad game thats an opinion. But why it sold and how it sold is why none of those games people are saying will outsell it. Use your heads and stop being fanboys and look at the marketing strategies that were employed by MS and Bungie to sell that game.
