It's obvious that it demands substantualy more power than the 360 or PS3 have. Do you think that a port will be made, and if so will it be worth the trouble?
Yes and yes. We'll probably see a port in time for the holidays next year. I'd definitely like to play it on my 360 since I don't have and won't buy a computer that could run it.
Probably not. The developers have said that they could make it for the 360 and PS3 but the real issue would be the memory involved. The 360 and PS3 would be crippled due to memory constraints mainly. Obviously the graphics would be toned down some but they were saying that the real issue would be memory and it really didn't sound like they were planning on porting it.
They can always optimize the graphic settings. Crysis is DX 9 and Dx 10 game. You can run this game pretty well with nvidia 7800 GTX or ATI 1900 card. Xbox 360 should be able to run this game in high settings. But, it won't be good as DX 10.
I think I read on QJ that one of the devs said they'll wait and see what kind of a reception it gets once it's released and if it's great and there's a demand there for it to go to consoles then they'll see what they can do
Probably, Crytek said they will probably release a downgraded Crysis for the 360 and ps3. Not ports, but built for both systems so they wont be crap ports. They said "if it sells well, we will probably release console versions for the ps3 and 360".

I think its RAM issues. 360 and ps3 only have 512mb of RAM... but the processor/graphics card could run it on decent settings, just not enough RAM... they would probbly have to take out big levels or something..
Considering the game is now out and aside from the graphics, it's a mildly entertaining shooter, I'll bet MS wants to make sure they get some money out of it, considering PC games don't sell like console games and are pirated in far greater capacity. Making a game that plays well on about 10% of PCs without a big wad of cash for upgrades makes about as much sense as not making a console port of it. We will probably get a better polished, slightly uglier version with achievements and Live support.
All the soldiers have the exact same face, and using one as a human shield shows no reaction on ther face while they get filled with bullets, so much for realism.

I heard this as well. It seems that it would be impossible to have the open world that the game creates. Perhaps they could release a spin off, like Far Cry: Vengeance.
Tone everything down, compress, I could see it happening, but crysis is like graphically the best on PC, so the specs are crazy. It would have to have some stuff done so the 360 could play it well. The 360 is a pretty powerful piece of crap.

It's pretty much the most advanced game ever physics and graphics wise, so a lot of what makes it great would have to be taken out. I think one of the upcoming battlefield games has similar destructable interactive environments, although the scope is not as big, so I guess it could be possible. The 360 and PS3 aren't technically as powerful as a high end PC, but they have all their recourses dedicated to the game. When you get down to it just running Vista would probably sap most of the 360's resources. So really I'm just blabbing on here and have no real idea, I just hope it's possible and they do.
I think it would be possible but it would be really held back on 360s that wouldn't have the hard drive cause it would make sense to have a lot of the game to stream in off the hard drive like it "kinda" does in Halo 3.
I think It would be possible. Far Cry was ported to the original xbox andeven thoughit didn't have as much power, it sure came close to the original PC. Crysisworks for both directX 9 and directX 10 and since the 360 and ps3are similartothat of a directX 9, a port is possible.

Crysis may look better than these games but it doesn't vastly leap over them.

I'm guessing that games later on will look even better than the one's you listed. And that list of games are already technically impressive. once developersget useddeveloping for these consoles and tapping it's true potential, we may seephoto realistic games by the end of this generation. But then again, by that time, PC games would even look way better and crysis 2 (or something like that)will blow our pants off haha.
I'd say that the 360 could possibly pull this game on high settings (DX9) very high is completely out of the question though. The main question is if Ea can convince Crytek to port which I doubt will happen.
