DX 10 is just Hardware instructions that make software effects easier .. . you can still do it with software rendering but you'll need efficient coding, otherwise it will run slower then Rednecks read... The thing to remember is even though there isn't DX10 instruction sets in the 360... There is a triple core processor in there, a very capable Graphics card, and a decent amount of RAM. With some practice they can fake it like Meg Ryan... seriously, did you think the type of graphics in Chaos theory and Halo 2 could've been pulled off on a Pentium III (750Mhz) with a Geforce 2 card back in 2001?? But it did... just took like 4 years.. so give the 360 some time.. i've already seen screenshots for Mass effect and Allen Wake that look just as good as Crysis so i wouldn't be surprised if there is an announcement soon that would make dedicated Hermits cry (then run to the store for a 360).
