My 360 runs very hot after only about an hour of use and I found this intercooler which doesn't use the consoles power supply to run and was wondering if its worth it.

Thanks.

An intercooler is a waste of money. If your 360 is gonna RROD, it just will. To be honest, it doesn't have much to do with heat.

My friend barely ever used his, and it RROD'd within 6 months. Meanwhile, some people have their on 24/7 and it doesn't.

I have an intercooler, I just figure, better safe than sorry. My first 360 RRODed and it was because it was on from 4pm-5am. Now I always play 9pm-4am and no problems yet. So it does have to do with heat...

lol trust me, it doesn't. It's a hardware failure that will happen whenever the hell it feels like it. My 360 RROD's, and I barely ever use it for more than an hour or two at a time.
