Sigmond I'm not a Jeff fan and 95% of his reviews I disagreed with but the reason he was fired for is what I'm angry about. If he screwing around and not doing what h was supposed to be doing I wouldn't care about him being fired but to be fired because of pressure from publishers for a less than satisfactory review is just wrong. How do you think all the other GS employees are feeling right now. Do you this won't have an impact on them and their future reviews?

I shouldn't have gone to dinner, but I must respond to this. Mainly for the simple reason that you looked at my response, decided I was against your point and made a response. You refused to read what I was saying and for that I pitty you. I'm saying noone knows why he was fired, except Jeff, and GS, and CNet. Was he fired for doing his job or because someone didn't like him.. The truth is anyone can be fired for any reason. You don't need a reason to be fired actually. They can say they didn't like his performance on the job and fire him for that, or because they didn't like his color shirt. Who's going to know the real reason other then the person firing him? Then there's the wild off chance that he just decided to leave on his own. It's a crazy thought, but people do get bored of their job from time to time. That's why I say you're a jeff Fanboy/girl. Because you only think it was because of the review. Then you go out and take it out on lO... wow that's fair.. really it is. The majority of the people who are doing that havn't even played Kane and Lynch and you know I can't say that I have, but saying it sucks and having it in your gamer card that you did play it adds to credibility on your part too.

It seems as though you have had your account for years, but this is the first time you have posted. Everything you have written has been slanted in such a manner as to attempt to deflate any and all debate. While I have no problem with that, I find it a bit odd.

I could care less about Jeff being fired because people get fired all the time at different jobs for various reasons. The game is great IMO. I wouldn't go and rate it low because a reviewer got firedScarface_tm431

It's not the fact that he got fired that is really discusting people, but rather the possible implication that Eldos was attempting to bribe their way to a higher score (in which GS potentialy accepted), followed by Jeff's refusal that is upsetting people. Not the fact that he got fired in general because as you say people come and go in a work place, it is a fact of life.

That's not actually true, if you don't have a reason for firing someone, they can actually take you to court for lost wages.....

i liked some of his reviews, but the review for kane and lynch was outta line. it shouldnt matter about eidos spending money. if thats the reason he got fired he should go postal and sue, but the review itself was too harsh.

I scored it how I feel it is. I love the game, not the greatest but its still fun and thats all it counts. I think its BS that a reviewer got fired for giving his opinion in the job, as he shouldve, but we dont even know if thats the real reason (If it is, sorry but can I have a link). Im not going to score a game low just because a reviewer for fired.

It probably willbe one of the lowest rated games in gamespot history, but not because its a bad game, but because jeff got fired. Kane and Lynch is actually a preety good game.

Yeah, the 1.0 reviews don't send a message to Gamespot or anyone else. It's just spam. Boycotting the site and not looking at it anymore sends a much greater message

I think its a good game. Yes some of the controls are off but the rest of the game is awsome. The story is great and some of the senarios are awsome. How many games have you breaking in a bank and then having you crazy partner kill all of the hostegs'. Plus I have been waiting for a game that actually uses BAD languague like real people do. Overall the game is not bad in any way. Im going to go give it a ten just to make sure that does not happen

Kane and Lynch has officially killed GameSpot's credibility.

What people aren't understanding is that this is not about someone getting fired for what expressing what they believe in, it's the fact that CNET would go as far as firing someone for money. Yes, we all know money makes the world revolve, but people come to game sites to get a good, unbiased opinion about their games. And now, this calls in question ALL the other reviews on GameSpot, because how certain are you that CNET wasn't persuaded to push GS editors into giving certain games a good review? And yes, the game may not be as bad as Jeff said it was, and yes, many people who are rating the game with a 1.0 haven't played the game, but CNET has to be taught a lesson that money is not all that matters, and Eidos must be taught not to push for good reviews if they truely don't deserve them. Reviews should be about the individual's personal opinion, not about how much money they're getting from speaking for someone else.
