HAHA! Your funny jimmygrace! Just because all the Halo fans will be getting the game doesnt mean the whole 360 community will be getting the game. Me and some of my friends are looking forward to other games more like GTA IV, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Unreal Tournament 3, ect... I already got my fair share of playing Halo 3 from the beta.

Uhh trust me people who have never played Halo will buy Halo 3 because of the hype or having a friend tell them how awesome it is.Just because a few people like you think its cool not to want Halo doesn't mean ALMOST every other person with a 360 won't buy it.
halo3 without doubt will be the most sold 360 game so far, WITHOUT DOUBT, to think otherwise will be ignorant. its just sheer numbers of halo fans that will make that happen, myself included. not to say that the other AAA titles wont sell great, because they will, but halo3 will just put the 360 ahead that much more, and keep it that way.Lachdanan0121Exactly, it doesn't matter if Halo 3 is great or horrible, the game will sell regardless because it has Halo in it's title. Do not underestimate Halo's popularity because you may not be a Halo fan yourself. I will be getting Halo 3 because I got the first two and I enjoyed them both. Although I found the beta to be more of the same, It is the single player and co-op mode that I am waiting to play.

Sorry I dont trust you, not every one who owns a 360 is going to want to buy Halo 3 the day it comes out, personally I'm looking much more forward to games like Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, Timeshift, or other games that don't depend on its previous fanbase. If Halo 3 doesn't have something up its sleeve that no one knows about and it changes the way FPS games are played then I'm sorry but I'm not paying 60 dollars to play a Halo 2 with slightly improved graphics. I beleive Shadowrun completly owned any fun I had with Halo 2, Halo is just a dumbed down FPS for the console, play any other kind of FPS and you will see how simplistic it is, compared to games like Shadowrun, Farcry, F.E.A.R, Unreal Tournament.

Halo 2 has sold 10 million (9.2 million from tis last report... but i'm rounding up). considering that around 22 million Xbox consoles have been sold, Halo 2 is not even batting a .500 in terms of owner to userbase ratio. that is very, very far from "almost."
The releases of Bioshock, Madden 08, Haze, Call of Duty 4, and Black site: Area 51 all coming out around the time of Halo 3. Will these releases somehow distract from the all-powerful Halo 3 and its overall success?
Keep in mind that these titles will come out before and after the release of Halo 3.

are you mad? the only thing that can take away halo3 hype would be halo4

I won't be buying Halo. Not at release. I'm more interested in some of the games Strife_FF7 listed. I'd just like to play something that isn't a shooter on my 360 for a while. Still, I will be getting Halo 3 eventually. Preowned, and cheaper.

Heh, You just got owned. Halo 2 came after one of the most wanted games for the xbox, Halo 3 is coming after Halo 2 which was kind of a disgrace compared to the poplarity of the first one because all it really was, was Halo 1 with multiplayer and an even crappier story. So I bet it won't do much better then Halo 2.
In a word, no.
Basically, Halo is one of the biggest franchises currently on any console. It's one of the few really 'hardcore' games that penetrates into the casual gamer market and while the hardcore market may be a little put off when they see some good niche titles coming out at the same time as Halo, the casual market won't be deturred.
Im a huge PC FPS fan and halo 3 does nothing special and whats even worse is that the game has aim assist and poeple end up feeling that they are good at FPS games which is horibly wrong.
I stoped playing halo MP after I realised this (about 20mins) The SP is mildly entertaining but over all I found nothing specail with it and IMO FEAR is by far a better FPS for consoles. The PC halo scores just show how dated the gameplay is and after playing the beta at the friends house Id say that its almost Identical.
And to answer the question yes I do, mainly because Bioshock and Haze are making me feel upset that I couldnt create that time machine(damn you bill gates).
Depending on the story line, Halo 3 might not even get an A rank. The multiplayer is Halo 2 with a few minor complications, and everyone has gotten their fill of Halo 2. The story line better be good, because no one is spending $60+ on another Halo 2.blaine66Cut it out you simply is a halo hater."The story line better be good, because no one is spending $60+ on another Halo 2" If you really think cause of a story it will stop Halo 3 success you sound radical.Halo bashers try everything in the book to put this game down and its making me sick.

Putting it down! I have no idea why that got up, I mean its just a run of the mill console fps really it may leave a mark on last gen consoles but this gen there are too many of them and most are actualy better than halo.
Yeah it will get a great score, but i dont always agree with reviewers, case in point shadowrun.

hate Halo 3? i guess you missed the post where i put down the guy giving a rating for halo 3's gameplay (obviously without playing the game) in the other thread. or my prior post these past few months where i constantly tell people that this idea of "lack of innovation" is made up by its complete balance.
its not Halo 3 that has me writing negative posts. its stupidity from other Gamespot users.
and i'm still waiting for you to answer my last question.

"I play PC FPSs, therefore I know Halo is inferior."
You people are getting extremely annoying. You think Halo players have never played a PC FPS before?
Edit: I just noticed the utter irony of you liking Shadowrun. Why don't you slander that game for having huge aim assist? It even has it in the PC version!

definitely not all... but those who associate Halo and innovative obviously never played Quake or Unreal Tournament before.
what completely amazes me are that the Halo fans in this forum right now don't touch upon what Halo does better than pretty much any other online game: balance. even with a number of weapons, vehicles, and now equipment in the game... Bungie has kept the game balanced throughout the Halo series (save for the Halo 1 pistol and the Halo 2 plasma sword, which they fixed). i'm starting to think that these "Halo fans" are just X360 owning posers.
All titles releasing in Aug-Oct of signficance (IMO) for all systems:
360 - Quake War (Aug-PS3 multi), Kane & Lynch (Aug-PS3 multi), Madden 08 (Aug-multiplat), Stranglehold (Aug-PS3 multi), Bioshock (Aug), Blue Dragon (Aug), Mass Effect (Sept), Halo 3 (Sept), Orange Box (Sept - PS3 multi), Assassins Creed (Sept-PS3 multi), Grand Theft Auto 4 (Oct-PS3 multi)
Wii - Metriod
PS3 - Lair (Aug), Warhawk (Aug), Heavenly Sword (Sept), Ratchet & Clank (Oct), Haze (Oct).....everything else as I said is multi with 360.
So do I think Halo 3 will have competition from other games and consoles, yes. Still doesn't mean it won't be a success. There are going to be a TON of games that offer the same FPS type of experience on the PS3 but there really won't be anything on the X360. Haze for the X360 will be released next year and A51 is a joke when you compare it to Halo (at least in my opinion)

Maybe not innovation, but since when did a game have to be innovative to be a great game?
I started playing FPSs on the PC from just after Quake 2 was released and I will continue to do so, but discounting Halo based on the fact that it's not like a PC FPS is utter nonsense.
As for balance, I don't think that's the reason Halo is such a good game, It's the sum of all parts really. When Bungie took Halo to the Xbox it wasn't built to be like the PC FPSs, it was built for consoles and to have the ease of use and functionality of a console game. The first Halo wasn't even online, it was played on LAN and split screen, which is the reason I like the game so much. It's the perfect 'hardcore' party game, no PC FPS will ever have me and 3 mates sitting down in the living room booting up our PCs and configuring LANs for a 'quick match' before we go out drinking!
