will the controller have a built in rechargeable battery pack or will it need batteries? If it needs batteries the wired controller seems like a better deal.

Good question. Anyone with an answer?

EDIT:

From a Guitar Hero III FAQ on EBGames.com:

What batteries are required for the new wireless guitar controllers?
Two AA batteries are required for the PS3 and Xbox 360 Les Paul and the PS2 Kramer Striker. No additional batteries are needed for the Wii Les Paul.

Eh, 2 batteries isnt much to spare. Plus if you get a rechager for batteries you would never have to buy that kind again. And wired controller means you can rock out more without tripping on the wire =]

You can buy the recharge kit directly from the makers of the game here.

Nice find... the Wii Les Paul probably plugs into the Wiimote like the VC controller does, meaning it drains off of the Wiimote batteries.

But I can manage two AA batteries... I was worried about this.

This is the first 3rd party wireless peripheral if im not wrong. Supposedly MS has been extremely stingy about 3rd party companies getting thier hands on the wireless capabilities of the 360. That may be why the recharable battery pack for the 360 doesnt work with it. You can buy a universal recharge kit that will work with all the guitars though.
