Just questiong if this monitor will be a great purchase to game on with the 360 and will the image be pretty sharp giving its still a 16:10 at 1680x1050 resolution monitor?

It will look amazing and definetly will look better than a -£400 HDTV. The only problem that you may have is setting up speakers but if you already know what to do then youll have a great setup.

Heres a link that may help you out(if you need any):

http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/703/703073p1.html

TBH the only downside is the size, which will reduce multiplayer splitscreen action and you will have to get closer than a TV to see whats going on.

But If you can afford a good HDTV then this is the better option than anything else.

That's an updated version of what I have. My PC is hooked up to the DVI port for WoW, and my 360 is hooked up to the VGA. It looks GREAT. If you are ok with it being a monitor only and requiring external speakers, go for it. I picked mine up for $299 at Office Max.

Edit:

This is what I have:

When you hook it up via VGA you will have several resolutions to choose from. The monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050, so you should set it up for that. VGA is progressive scan, so there's really no reason to set it up for 1080p.

Now that you mention it, the 360 does not have a 1680 option. I configured it for 1280x1024 widescreen format (which comes out to 1280x960 I believe). I use it while sitting at my computer desk so I've never minded the size, and it looks sweet. I was playing double agent last night and it looked like I could reach out and touch Sam Fischer's fuzzy head.

The resolutions that you can select from are all 5:4 aspect ratio. However, when you select widescreen format, the 360 adjusts that to it's corresponding widescreen resolution, so 1280x1024 becomes 1280x768 (I incorrectly stated 1280x960 before).

kind of hard to believe a 1280x768 will serve a 1680x1050 a aamazing picture. What settings are you using like Contrast level, brightness level, fine tuning level, ect.

I wish I could show you this thing. Mine is the 225BW which is basically the same monitor. I was concerned about running a non-native resolution as well. I probably wouldn't have done it except I primarily bought this for my PC.

All I can tell you is that it's native 1680 that I'm running at 1280, I'm using default brightness/color/contrast, and it looks VERY good. I have seen monitors that look horribly blurry when you step them down, but this still has a very crisp picture.

If you're not convinced, there are a couple options. One is to get a monitor that is 1280x768 native, but most of those are under 20 inches. The other is to go to a 22" HDTV, which of course is 2-3 times the price.

Yes it has a really nice contrast ratio for a monitor and all the other specs are nice as well as the look. I may have to pick one up lol. Do they have a 24in version? By the way just make sure to hook up the 360 with vga cables and set it to the correct resolution.

Didn't want to start a new topic so I decided to post my question here.

If your monitor/tv isn't in a 16:9 ratio will there be black streaks along the sides,

or will the 360 just upscale the resolution to fit the screen. My monitor is a 1280x1024.

When you connect a 360 via VGA cables, you set the resolution and format in the settings. If you have a "normal" aspect ratio, you just select that from the options. It will still be high resolution, but not widescreen. Some games (Hitman, for example) will put bars on your screen, some will be full screen.
