Correct me if I'm wrong, but there were certain games that dropped in price some time after there release. That is why Doom is only 400 points now. When do you think we may see some more of these price drops on the older games? I guess I was looking forward for this to happen with some of the earlier stuff like Prince of Persia and Alien Hominid HD.

I didn't know some of these games had dropped in price. As I understand it, digital distribution has a longer 'tail'. By that, I mean that physical releases are enormous in their first month, and then taper off, where digital downloads are slower to taper off in this way. Microsoft mentioned a policy a while ago of removing titles that scored less than 6.5 on metacritic and had fallen below certain sales thresholds. I don't know why they wouldn't just make them cheaper once that happens. To me, the beauty of digital downloads is that they will be available for ever (or at least a really long time) as there is little cost to keeping them available.

If they are selling decent numbers at the current prices, there is no reason for them to reduce the price, but if sales are slowing, I'm all for reducing the price. There are some games I'm just shy of buying at 800 points that I would pick up for 400.

keep an eye out causei figure once the games start slowing down they will lower them about $5(400pts). this is what i want to happen to castle crashers and braid. i realize that both games are amazing and worth their current price, i just like to wait till things become more affordable to jump on the band wagon.

I'm not sure if it was a one-off that they created the Arcade Hits range. There are about 8 games in it that had their prices reduced by 400MS points. I would like to see more coming down in price.

There was talk at one point of removing certain games, but I think the new dashboard will sort things differently and remove the need for delisting - the main reason for it was that it was getting hard to find games in an ever growing list.

For games that get poor sales, then surely dropping the price would encourage more people to buy it.
