Better hope retard major nelson get off his ass and fix it with another update or something, where you can fix it yourselves in the family setings.snoxxx13

Right because everything is Major Nelson's fault? He must be to blame because he brings you news? Don't shoot the messanger kid.
My biggest question is.....So what if you have to wait a couple weeks? Get over it. It's not going to kill you to walk 2 feet, boot up your computer and log onto windows messanger that way. Plus it will be easier to type until the add on comes on. So why all the fussing? Kids aint had their milk today?

LOL, I have never seen such a large group of disgruntled teenagers in my life. What has this world turned into when you can't use your game console to IM people. Sad thing really LOLjagermizer_21
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that these young adults (much better term then "disgruntled teenagers") aren't getting a product that they are paying for, even though it is rightfully their's to use. Not only that, but faithful Xbox fans who created there account before they were 18 on the original Xbox, and who are now in their early 20's aren't getting the service as well.
Not to mention how absurd it is that anyone can use MSN Messenger, for free, on their PC. That and Microsoft considers people who are 17 years-old or younger to automatically be "Children". I think these are the problems my uninformed friend.Â

Or the problem is, that you really don't need to instant message people on a damn console. Get up the two feet and walk to your computer. If not use your cell phone. Theres plenty of ways. If they are that worried about it, find an alternate route to do it. They did NOT pay for messanger they paid for a gaming console. Not an instant messanging center. Play games on it, walk to the computer. Do anything but cry and whine on gamestop about how you've been shafted for something you didn't even pay for. The update was free. They paid for the gaming console they've got it. Microsoft was just adding onto it, there was a problem. Ooops. We don't need 50 post about how messanger was messed up on Gamespot. It's Gamespot not Messangerspot.

Haha, you are so wrong. Learn how the economy works. That's like saying as long as a vehicle has four wheels and can get you from point A to point B, it doesn't matter what else you do or don't get. Automobile companies constantly have to upgrade and/or add new features annualy to their vehicles to make them stand out. It's these perks, or bonuses if you will, that are what differentiate one product from another.Â
Taking gaming consoles into consideration, MSN Messenger is one of the differentiating factors between the 360 and the PS3 and Wii. Are you going to tell me that all consoles are the same, or do they have different games that make them individually unique? I'll help you out, it's the latter option.
You also suggest to just use your cell phone to text. Isn't that ironic, according to what you say, shouldn't a phone be for phone calls, and phone calls only?Â

1. I am just trying to figure out how they aren 't getting what they paid for. It's funny when I got my 360 on launch day nowhere did it say that instant messaging was coming in a year and a half. So there for they bought it as a game console.
2. If they are faithful xbox fans, that should probably mean that they are faithful microsoft fans and not bash them all the time for whatever reason comes to mind.
3. I don't think it is microsoft's standard that says anybody 17 or younger isn't an adult. I am pretty sure you have to be 18 to vote, buy tobacco legaly, gamble and I am pretty sure by most state laws people aren't an adult till they are 18. I know your response will be that it doesn't mean they shouldnt' be able to use im on the 360 i am not disputing that. I am disputing the fact that everyone "hates" microsoft yet all these people bought a 360 willingly

In that response wouldn't that go against what you said earlier of people aren't getting what they paid for. They didn't pay for im service. But i am pretty sure all these add-ons to cars don't have to be bought. Last I knew they still sell cars factory model with the OPTION to buy the add-ons.
It's not as great as you'd think now that i've played around with it a bit.
Â
When you get a message come through you have to hit the guide button, go through one menu, go through another and hten you finally get to typeyour message, which also takes ages.
The leaked video footage where you saw msn is nothing like that, i tried finding somewhere i could perhaps customize it but no luck, it's just a very annoying feature so far lol
Jiizes...i got the same message, so i thought : What if i change my age on hotmail.com ?
So i changed it from 92, to 85. Which is 22 years old..did it help ? No ! F*** ! Why ? Do i need some kind of special hotmail account too?Â
This sucks.. Oh, and another thing i want to complain about. I entered my 48 hour trial, and choosed to redem. They said i would
have to sign out and in again, for the changes to take effect..did that work ? Nope, still silver. F*** ms!Â
ilovesnowboard
No, it stays silver on 48 hour trials. You can still play games online though..

The reason we are not getting what we paid for, is because we bought a console with the promise of new features and upgrades in the future. This is one of those features, and Microsoft should have been able to let people who have turned 18 now, be able to use this feature. If everyone else that is 18 or older is getting this feature for free when they get their Xbox 360's, then we should as well. Admittedly, it is not that big of a feature, but it is the principal of that matter.
