Yes, its having random freezes, giving me the annoying white screen, its exactly what happened before my last RRoD. But i told my 360 i'd play my PS3 and stop feeding it gamerscore if it got the RRoD. God, i really hope it can hear me.
nO way man RROD atleast happens in once a year at normal for me it was once in 1.5 years and gone from Jan 08 my console is not giving me single problem. So I am not terrified or anything. If its joke I can say yes but now no way I am dont think that it is to be that much feared that your 360 cant take it for 7 days or anything.
Also thoe who have got it repaired will be in luck since method to reapir have been improved and RROD has got down significantly in atleast last 2 months form before.
I got my 360 at launch and never had a RRoD. A frew weeks ago i was playing halo and after the normal black screen it came up and looked as if it had been painted in water colors. I rebooted my system and nothing just horizontal purple lines. My point is RRoD isnt the only thing to fear :P on a good note though I got it back in less than 2 weeks, cost 94 though.
not at all ever since i got an elite a yr ago and it still runs and sounds like it did when i first played it. i didnt think the RROD was still this big a problem, although i hav a friends that halo3 killed but luckily he had a replacment plan at bestbuy so he didnt half to suffer for 2 weeks w/o halo 3
I aint afraid at all... But last night my 50 inch Samsung plasma just broke while I was watching the series... That is like 10x worse then getting RRod. Samsung estimates that the in house repair is going to be scheduled sometime 10 days from now.... So I'm going to start gta4 on an Old school 27 inch crt...
Funny that someone should start such a thread........I just got the dreaded RED RING OF DEATH last night. Actually it happened the night before but after disconnecting all leads and hard drive and reconnecting and rebooting it worked. It is ironic that a friend said after the incident, "RROD this close to GTA IV day?! F**K me! You musta been s**ting yourself!" However last night it happened again and was unable to fix it..........so now GTA IV is just around the corner and no 360 to play on. What a bastard of a thing to happen! Good luck to all my fellow gamers.......may you avoid the RROD and enjoy GTA IV on launch day!
I've had the 3 rings when i have my 360 ontop of everything with a fan blowing at the side to blow the hot air that comes out of the system away and an airconditioner above it to keep the area cool.......so your theory blows as much as the lifespan of a 360.
lol, I finally got the RRoD on my 2nd console two days ago. Won't get the coffin until Monday. I do have a spare though so it could be much, much worse.

Kinda strange you should feel this, i try not to worry about it, but the disadvantage to that is that you'd probably be in tears if it happened. I've had mine for 2 years, not 1 RRoD.tommat119944
Same ive had my 360 for 2+years and no rrod. My brother has had his since launch and no rrod. So i have never worried about it.
Every time I turn on my Xbox and it makes a funny noise or every time it gets slow for a split second when I sign on to Live I'm getting really nervous I might get the RROD. I'm almost afraid to even turn on my Xbox until the 29th.MM87
Sure, its better to wait till the 29th so it can die after 3 hours of GTA4 and youll be left wanting more.....

I hope you've at least tested the replacement (especially on live). There's quite a few issues popping up where replacements are failing to connect, as if they've been banned.
Yeah I have been pretty worried. Doesn't help that I have been putting 4+ hours of game time in a day with the recent rentals of Lost Odyssey and Dark Sector while trying to finish Forza 2.

I had 1 360 before this one and that only last 2 months and i had problems with it ALL the time! constant freezing in the dashboard ect. So i know the difference between a good and bad 360
My XBOX froze and I was gonna crap my pants. I turned it on and it was fine so I moed it to ontop of my tv stand, with a laptop fan under, and with a regular fan aimed at it at full blast. Takin the extra precaution.
my elite just got rrod about a week and a half ago. i just got the box and sent it out to be fixed wednesday, so i wont be playing gta4 on launch. this is now the third time a xbox had broke on me, two time with premiums which i then sold to get an elite cause i thought it would be reliable. guess not. microsoft def has to fix the durability of the successor to the 360 because from my experiences so far, the console has about a one year reliabilty and then it breaks, every year. hopefully i will get it back by next weekend so i can play gta4 which i just read got 10/10 from ign in every category, and the reviewer called it the best game of the last 10 years, so im pretty excited to play, but the wait is gonna kill me.
ive said this befor i think ppl hoo get the RROD just dont take care of their 360 it aint the systems fault its the owner for not caring for their system, i think the person hoo started this wanted to be able to sue microsoft and failed miserably so therefore this whole RROD thing JUST A SCAM so lighten up ppl and take care of ur systemsdogman753
You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. You are seriously misinformed, and should get out from under that rock and learn a little bit about the RROD. My 360 is always well ventilated and taken excellent care of.
But I'm not too worried. I got my 360 almost 2 years ago, it was freezing a lot so I sent it back. few months later RROD. few months later same thing, then again a few months later. Then I get the RROD 6 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS. My parents didn't want me to wait to play the games I was going to get so they got me an arcade system for Christmas (imagine the look on my face, getting 3 sweet games, upset that I can't play them for 3 weeks then oh yeah we 'forgot' about this one...), which are supposed to have been fixed, then I got RROD, it cleared up, but then it wouldn't read discs. So I have horrible luck with 360s, but what are the chances of it affecting both? (knock on wood)
