Would 360 be as popular without XBOX LIVE?

I couldn't imagine the 360 w/o any xbox live services. I feel really sorry for anyone who's left out in the cold to connect to DSL or above connection. It's just opened so many doors of possibilities!!!

I think my 360 would be collecting massive dust w/o the wonderful XBOX LIVE
Does this say how bad single player experience is? on 360?

I know what it feels like to be w/o broadband, when Halo 2 came out, I couldnt play it on LIVE, and after years of missing in action, Broadband finally becoming affordable in my region and i am sure glad!!! I'm just now starting to play Halo 2 on LIVE, and I'm getting murdered every match but it's a blast!!!

If the original Xbox hadn't had Live then there's a good chance there never would have been a 360. -K

Hell no.  XBL is a HUGE reason for MS still being in the industry.

I'd not have brought a 360 without Live, it makes the games just last so much more and you get a whole new level of enjoyment out of it.

Nothing can compare.

this is saying alot about North America/ Europe Market, I don't know what kind of living situation is like in Europe but, N. America does not live close quarter (not in suburb anyway) maybe that's part of the reason why Japanese does not embrace ON-line play, b/c they live in such a close quarter, and lack of needs for on-line play.

I doubt it. Multiplayer is the core of most x360 games.

Well, before I got a 360 I wasn't sure..I'd played a few games online at my friend's house (like PDZ) and they hadn't really impressed me. Luckily, the first game I tried online with the free 1 month live subscription on my 360 was Gears of War. That changed my mind COMPLETELY. I love XBL. I've never been much of a lone gamer, and waiting for friends to come round to play on a tiny split screen wasn't ideal.

Good question. I do feel that Live is its key selling point. Well, that and the graphics.

If you have never used live then it's not that important but once your used to it,you then can't do without it.

Not as popular as it is now but, it will still be good because of the games.

For example Oblivion. That a hell good of a single-player game.

If XBL wasn't here a lot more big RPG's would be released.

Almost sure.
