My tribe gives me a $1000 on my birthday. If I spent a $1000 on 360 games in one checkoutwould everybody think I have no life?

surely there are better things to spend a grand on than video games? I would buy at most 1 game, then spend the rest on other stuff, maybe take the girl out for dinner, or some new clothes...

I would. Why on Earth would you spend that much money on games? I could understand if you bought a new system and a game for around $300-$400 but $1000, no way.

I've spent more than that in the past two years on games/systems but just because I did that doesn't necessarily mean I think it was a good idea :) There are better things that could be done with that money, and you can get more than enough games to keep you occupied for a fraction of it

Depends on your financial situation ^^ If you have enough money anyway, I don't think it's all that sad, but if it's like all you have, I'd say it's sad

I'd pick out a couple games you really want and get them. Maybe save some of that money for games later in the year too when the holiday rush hits.

Why would you buy all these games at once? Not like you're gonna finish them all in a day or two. Buy a couple, finish them, then go out. By the time you get to the next game, who knows, maybe it'll be on sale.

Buying that many games at once would be a huge mistake, you'd never play through any of them.

Exactly, buy 2-3 for now...then you can slowly buy more as you need them. Buying in bulk is not a good idea, and besides by the time you start finishing a couple, some of the ones you already bought will have had price drops.

A 360 prmium bundle, mic, xbox live, another controller(whats the fun with out two players at least) and a hundfull of games probably isnt to far from one thousand dollars. Especially if you get like a Rockband or Guitar Hero or something. No, I don't think it means you have no life.

assumming you all buy them at once at 60 dollars a game,

getting 16 games isn't a very good idea you couldn't have as much fun as if you bought each one at a time.

Chances are, you're going to be wasting a lot of money on games you won't enjoy. Do some research and pick out the games you want. Then invest the rest in a bank.

Who cares it's your money.. Buy whatever you want and enjoy it although that will be pretty worthless just buy one or two at a time and put the rest in the bank. Over time you'll buy more games at a cheaper price so more bang for your buck.

That would buy a lot of games, but unless you have multiple pairs of arms, eyes and ears, you can still only play one game at a time. Get a couple of new games to celebrate, but don't get any more until you are done with those ones.

There's no way you'd finish them, just get the ones you actually want to play now and save the rest for another day or just put it in the bank.

Who cares what others think.

Yes its a little much spending 1000$ in one time to the store on games, but in the end its UP TO YOU.

Someone else might spend $1000 on new rims for there car, someone else might spend the $1000 on hockey cards, someone else on some new music equpment or studio time and someone else might spend it on a new sound system for there house, so in the end JUST DO YOU man.

Who cares what others think.

This is what I'd do: Buy 5 games now, and buy another 5-8 new games as they come out during the fall. You'll still have like $200-300 left over.

spend $200 on games(get the LE versions of the games since you can afford it and have money to burn)... then $800 on an HDTV, IF you already have an HDTV, save that extra $800 for yourself to get snacks, a surround sound system, game posters(trick your room out), bean bags, juice hats, etc.

man I wish I had $1000 to blow right now, I JUST now came back from Chase bank depositing $180 into my account to get me out of the RED... :(

Just go ahead and buy $1000 worth of games. It's rather obvious that you or your family has the money or else you wouldn't even be contemplating something like this. Go for it... beside you'll get another grand in a few weeks or so, so why not? If you don't like the games, just use them as coasters

I think your tribe is going to look for responsibility and maturity when dealing with that money. Blowing 1000 bucks at once isn't either. Maybe you should buy a few games and throw the rest in the bank... or maybe invest it in something worthwhile like a car.

Here's what I would do if I live with my family. I would pimp my room, get a nice TV, recliner & soundsystem. This way I don't have to get out of my room when I'm playing games bec. I have everything in my room.
