I have been wondering myself these questions.

I wanted to know what the gameing community would do.

So If you all could ease my thoughts and vote in my poll.

Myself I dont think I would want this for anything other then family games and parlor games.

I think Microsoft is trying to hard to change our lives to bring new tech.

I also feel that most people are not ready for this control in their house hold.

Also most gamers dont keep their 360 in a liveing room or a large room for anyone to play.

They have it in their small bedrooms like I do lol!!

Anyways happy voteing and thank you in advance 8)

I think Microsoft is trying to hard to change our lives to bring new tech.

They are just trying to cash in on the success that is Nintendo's motion controller. Casual gamers = majority of the gaming market... and MS has obviously been trying to lure more of this crowd to their console via: Facebook/Twitter/Avatars/easier video games etc...

I also feel that most people are not ready for this control in their house hold.

Many people thought that the world wasn't ready for the Wii either. They thought of it as a gimmick that will die within a short time; they were wrong. Natal is going to be the next "cool-gadget" to own, especially for those who want to make their entertainment center appear more tech-savvy. What other product out there will let you select a film with just your hands and voice?

Also most gamers dont keep their 360 in a liveing room or a large room for anyone to play.

Are you sure? Most of the gamers I know (particularly the casual gamers) keep their consoles in a living room or seperate game room. They don't keep it in their bedroom because they don't play it very often, and usually only play when they have company over.

theres a good chance i will buy depending on few my requirements

1: games that i believe will be fun. this is number one because if no good games then whats the point

2:Performance. how well dose natal read you and how fast recact to movments and all that good stuff. from what i seen so far looks good. Milo was first introduced it was on a private staged event but it did show how natal can pick up on small things like face emotions and some other things.

3: price is a killer. better be cheaper then the WIi.... around 100 bucks... 150 is pushing it because i can buy a dang wii for 200 new and have whole system just built on motion vs the 360 will be like a half-a

even if you keep it in bedrooms or small room microsoft is working on this to make work in about every room. this will be hard for people with small rooms. better start redesigning~~~~

All about the games it comes with. Concept looks really interesting, but is the technology there? I just find it hard to believe playing some game genres with nothing but your hands.. and I don't want this turning into a wiifest where we have to go buy 10 different attachments for a stupid remote based on what game we're playing. And that Milo game just looked plain creepy. I could see some pedos having way too much fun with that.

yeah, what I meant was, it seems to be coming along nicely, I just hope when its actually out it can deliver and not be a gimmick like so many other attempts at revolutionizing the gaming industry (see nintendo wii)

I'm not buying this motion control BS. I refuse to support it. I dont want the X-box 360 turning into another Wii, full of games for old women and four year olds.

The day that this Natal BS is mandatory to play most games, I'm either going back to PC gaming or buying a PS3.

totally agreed. The wii only has a bunch of older style, crappy games. Think of what gaming can do now in term of HD picture, sound, and making wonderfully crafted stories to go along gaming. Then picture that all of the wii's success has been with arcade-like games that totally ignore the three things I just mentioned.

good reply from everyone so far, yes everyone I know has their 360 in their bedroom lol I feel this will only do well with kid or family games, cause that seems to be all that the wii is good for, to me IMP, I don't feel they have had a real good use of their system with any non childish games. Alot of the family type games have played well on it I don't know, so more opinions are welcomed. Thank you for keeping it a mature conversation 8)

The price doesn't matter as much as support for it does. I will probably end up getting it, I don't see why I wouldn't eventually.

Eww, Natal? ergh. The thing looks so stupid, Why? Just why are Sony and Microsoft ripping off Nintendo? I won't be getting this, at all. Imo i think Microsoft should stop advertising on TV about features that aren't even on the 360 yet. All these commercials about "Watch Sky TV on your Xbox 360" It doesn't say anything about it's not actually out yet for the 360. Microsoft PLEASE stop manipulating people's minds just because you still haven't made a profit on the Xbox 360 since launch.

No. I've never bought any extra peripherals for any other system (except DDR pads that came with the games :P) and I see no need to yet for the 360.

But like spazzx625 said above, it all depends on support, and I'll get it if I absolutely have to for a game that I absolutely must play that requires it.

Price isn't that much of an issue as long as its not crazy expensive. I just want to be sure that Natal is actually going to *improve* my gaming experience. If its actually fun to play FPS, RPG and racing games with Natal then I'm all over it. If not, then I'll skip it.

Doubt it.

Unless it is $60 or less, and I will still wait a good amount of time to see if it turns into a pure shovelware gimmick.

It wont be $60 :-)... I think it will be a interesting release. I cant see it replacing the standard controller, that just wouldn't work but I think there will be some good games designed specially for it. Mylo looks a bit creepy but even the voice controlled XBox menu looked cool.

True Sony is, however they aren't forgetting about the "hardcore" & keep providing gamers with high grade exclusive titles. MS is putting everything into Natal & in the end will lose a lot of it's user base to the PS3 and/or PC.

No, Sony is not getting anything like Natal. What they have is a motion controller that looks like a d1Ld0 and has a stupid light up ball at the tip. I don't want a stupid motion controller, that's why I didn't buy a wii. Sony is being completely stupid and is making Nintendo's mistakes all over again. No one wants to waggle a f***ing "wand". At least Microsoft is avoiding that!

Dumbass Sony fanboys...

You don't want to waggle, but you want to do whatever Natal does? To me it's all garbage, to you it's all good as long as MS is doing it right?

Another thing, what's up with the Sony fanboy comment? Do I seem like a Sony Fanboy to you?

For me the decision to get the Natal depends on these things:

  • The price - I don't want to spend much more than the price of a new game for the Natal controller
  • The games - Not only does there need to be a wide selection of games that support Natal, but there needs to be a reason to use Natal instead of just a controller. Natal controls need to be in the game for a reason, not just because it is available.
  • The quality and accuracy of Natal - I have the Live Vision camera, and to be honest the quality of that is very low. It struggles to pick out people from the background unless you are in a very bright room, and needs large exaggerated movements to work.

If somebody makes some new or innovative games using Natal, then I'd probably get it. It's all about the games. I'm not going to buy a piece of technology just to own it no matter how inexpensive it is.

"Hey, I own Natal for Xbox 360! Will you sleep with me now??"

Thanos_Greece

It doesn't matter how much it cost. If successful, Natal will make the 360 into another Wii, with most games built around a casual audience.

I'll bet you any amount of money that if Natal does become successful, we'll be seeing a a rip off of Wii fit.
