I typically prefer linear since I know what to do most of the time, but I need both. Playing linear games can get old after a while.vashkeyi agree. i dont have a preference, though i want one with a good story. something like bioshock or fallout 3 both interest me, though if i had to choose one, i suppose linear as its better for storytelling.
I prefer linear as well, I'm just not good at figuring out where to go and what to do...especially if the world is huge like fallout 3
If I want open world I'd go out and live my own life. I like being led through a game, just like a movie or bookistuffedsunnyYes, but choose your own adventure books are always fun too. I like both as long as its a good game then Im not to picky
I like both, but what I play normally depends on my mood. I tend to space out my open world games though and seldom play two in a row. I will sometimesget bored after playing open world games for so long, so I like to space it out some. I can beatmultiple linear games back-to-back though.
i'd much rather play a linear game...I like don't like when theres a multiple places to go, I feel like im gonna miss something
But even in a open world game like Fallout 3, if you follow the storyline it becomes pretty linear. The option of doing side quests and exploring is what I like in open world games. But like already said, I like linear and open world games. Even though its great to dive into the depths of a whole different world in a game, that is vast and open like in Fallout 3 or Mass Effect, its a nice variety to play more straight-forward games where the tension and action are somewhat more tense.I prefer linear as well, I'm just not good at figuring out where to go and what to do...especially if the world is huge like fallout 3

I was wondering who would prefer and open world game vs. people who prefer linear games. Open world games are great for tackling objectives in different ways, but may not have alot of crazy scripted moments. They might be confusing too, like trying to find one place and getting utterly lost. Linear games on the other hand, might be easier for some people. There is alot less walking around , dazed and confused. There might be a whole lotta explosive scripted sequences too. It may give you less freedom though. I want to know your opinions forum readers!Python_2k9open world is good, but i dont want it to be 'too' open if u get my drift. i like to know where im going and what my next objective is without having to do it right away. kind of like oblivion and fallout, there are always quests, but u dont need to do them in a specific order (other than the story related ones but thats a given) and you dont have to do them as soon as u get them
