Yeah i beat disc 1 after 13:58 (basically 14 hours).
And now im like 19:30 or something and still on disc 2. Its a great game so far!
My friend said it took him 62 hours to beat it, might be more or less for me and you though

I'm like 26 hours in and finishing up Disc 2 but I'm also looking for items and taking my time with it. Normally people finish it in 40-60 hours. Also take note that Disc 4 is the longest by far so if you feel you're playing a lot and still playing the first 3 discs in you're in for a ride when you reach thr fourth.[QUOTE="REforever101"][QUOTE="kozzy1234"]The game is awesome, im about 20 hours into it, on disc two and im loving every minute of it so far :Dkozzy1234

I agree, if the game wasnt as addicting as it is, it would last people a super long time. Ive just been so addicted to the game so far that i have to keep playing to see what happens next hehe :P
Speaking of which.. i think ill have a quick game of Crysis and then jump on Lost Odyssey a bit before bed :)

Uh yeah, it's amazing. But reviewers are always looking for something new, reiteration of a classic is abysmal nowadays I guess.paullywog
I am really REALLY amazed at how his game hasnt gotten 9.0's across the table. Its one of the best singleplayer games ive played in ages. Amazing story, characters, gameplay and atmosphere (those dream segments really add to the the game alot imo) :D
And easily my fav JRPG since FF7 :D
Do you play other JRPGs? I don't know how this one is, but I've liked Final Fantasy rpgs so does anyone know how they compare?StreetRacer91If you loved the old FFs (7,8,9,10) then you will LOVE Lost Odyssey, or that seems to be the case for everyone. This is easily the best RPG experience I've had since playing FF7 and 8, it brings a lot of nostalgia and good memories.

Its from the maker of some of the final fantasy games and IMO its basically a new aged Final Fantasy series this one. I really hope we get a trilogy. if you enjoyed final fantasy definatly check this out.
I was on the fence, but seeing how so many people are saying such great things about it, I think I will pick it up definitely. I wasn't a big fan of JRPGs but I want to try the genre again. And I love games with great stories, which this sounds like it is...SLXD
Yeah alot of my friends who never liked JRPGS are giving this game a chance, because theyve heard such good things and they are older now then when the last time they tried a JRPG, and they all seem to be loving it so far! :)
Definatly pick it up man!

If you loved the PSX era Final Fantasy games (7,8,9) then you will love this game as well. Hironobu Sakaguchi did a good thing leaving Square-Enix to make his games the way he wants because the man really knows what works for JRPGs.

I really hope microsoft gets him to make another game for the 360 right away hehe :P

Lol yeah, Jansen rocks. He's the comedic and he balances out the game with Kaim being Mr. Serious and all. Hee hee. The game is simply amazing. I scored it a 9.5. It's truly one of those hidden gems of the year. Dont miss out on this one. My favorite character is Queen Numara btw. Runner-up is Gongora, the dude is a badazz.
i'm glad that the last disc is the longest :D
i remember final fantasy 7, the last disc was only to find and kill sepiroth and some side missions, so i was kind of expecting the same thing here d:
I hated Blue Dragon because of its terrible voice acting, lame story, weak characters plus it was way 2 easy. Now i see lost oddysey which brings back memories of the old final fantasy. Which is why i am giving mistwalker another chance and picking up this game this week
fallendamnation
Amen brotha. Enjoy.
im at 72 hours on disc 4, my main group is lvl 52 and the rest are lvl 49, there are some harder parts coming up, and a couple of insanely aggravatingly hard battles on disc 4
i was around 15 hours in at the sorceress mansion i think (but i like exploring everything and getting every item)

I'm only on disc 2 right now but I spent 12 hours just on disc 1. But I'm also going around looking for all the secrets.
Okay, the only turn-based RPG I have ever played is the Pokemon series and I loved those games. Now I am really into WRPGs and don't know if I am going to like the turn-based combat. So can someone sway me into getting this game?TMontana1004
Alot of my friends who dont like turn based rpgs are loving this game. Its got alot of strategic elements to it.... its a great game! Pick it up!
I was trying to rent this at Blockbuster yesterday but they didn't have it :(
To those of you who are playing it, how hard is it? I've heard it's pretty difficult and I don't want to have to spend too much time grinding in order to past a certian point.

Alright, you have convinced me. I guess I'll pick it up during the summer when the whole video game rush settles down.

Due to the limitations of space on DVDs, yep. Lots of CG = lots of space. I actually that it's 4 discs. Nostalgia ftw.
Is there a demo for this? I've heard that it's a fantastic game, I don't have any RPG's but I loved the Eternal Sonata demo and I'm planning to buy it when it get's a pricedrop.club-sandwich
Club! I remember you! Go buy it. Now! Eternal Sonata is great, but LO is a more epic experience. I recommend you go pick up LO now. Watch some gameplay vids then give in to peer pressure and buy it.

I also liked that it was 4 discs, I loved getting RPGs on the PSX because they were 4 discs and it just felt like you were really getting your moneys worth out of a game that big.
^^ thats the dumbest excuse it brings back memories lol.Id rather it been on one disc so i don't risk it getting scratched or having to change the disc every now and then.IppotheFighter
Having to swap a disc every 20 hours into a game isn't a big deal at all.
There's no difference between scratching during a swap opposided to scratching during the initiall disc insertion.
Besides, I agree... having 4 discs brings back some good memories from my favorite FF somehow. :P

Well if you want it on one disc ask Mistwalker to release it on the PS3 so they can put it on one Blu-Ray disc. And why worry about scratching the other 3 discs when they will always be in the case. And really how is switching a disc every 20 hours difficult? Are you that fat and lazy that the threat of getting up out of your couch to swap a disc for 10 seconds that scary?
