I'm going to buy a X360 but I have a problem. I haven't got the money 4 good LCD TV :( I'm owner of 10 years old SONY 21' TV.

So I'd like to know is it a sense to buy next-gen If I have this tv ???

I want to play in new games but doesn't exist any chance to buy a new TV :(

Did somebody played on this kind of tv ??? and what do u think about it.

Do u know any sites where's showed comparision between normal and LCD tv with conected X360 or PS3 ???

Thx ...

This SONY hasn't got even 60 Mhz , and panorma , so typical TV 4:3 , 50 Mhz :/ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ....

I use a 27" Standard-Def toshiba from about two yards away, and it's fine for one player, split screen is hard, though. The picture quality between a SD CRT and a SD LCD is very little. It's a vast improvement over the XBOX, that's for sure. It's much like graduating from the PS to the PS2.

Blasphemy, that's what I think about it. 360 isn't even worth it in SD. If you can't afford an HDTV, get a widescreen computer monitor, I just got a 20" LCD screen for $150, so you could just put off buying a couple of games for a while.

i used a regular tv for a loooong time and i never had a problem with it except for online shooters. you cant make out things far away and this is crucial when you are sniping and things like that. just buy a $100 LCD monitor and a vga cable and you're set for a somewhat hd experience XD

its fine on a standard tv you can still see the amazing graphics... albeit not as well as on a hdtv but I use a mix of a standard tv and my monitor... that is until I get a vga switcher

I play 90% of my 360 time on a standard tv and it's definatly a step back but it's stil worth it. Graphics are stil great but the most important thing is that the 360 games are amazing. The power of the 360 isnt just in it's graphics but it's also in what a game can do with it to increase gameplay.

I play on a standard and the games all look fine. Gears and Oblivion all look amazing, you'll just miss out on some of the fancy-schmancy particle effects and stuff.

I think about it like this: yeah, I have standard def right now, but then when I do finally upgrade to an hd set or monitor all my old games will look amazing again!

It's fine on a standard TV, I play it on a 27" flat screen. My only complaint is that the text is very hard to read.

The most notable difference is the text rendering.

Yeah, what he said. Text is not good even on 36" sd tv on some games, but anyone who says to not buy a 360 unless you have HD obviously has an HD tv and is just spoiled.

an sd tv is fine. i had mine for a year before i picked up my hdtv's. if you truly let something like that take away from enjoying a good game, then that's your problem.

I have a 27inch standard TV. My pour xbox never touch HDTV, but I think it works fine. You still see the difference from the old xbox. You will still get a wow effect. Just not a holy cow effect. 2 years of games I have played. Would not of missed if just for jump in graphics. Not to mention XBLA. I am sure the PS3 is fine too. I plan to find out down the road a bit.

it is quite blury, but not unreadable, but if you have Component (the red, blue, and green cable plug ins), then it is perfectly fine

That is bull, the 360 is totally capable of rendering in 1080p if the developers would just do it. and if you're making this statement to show ths superiority of the PS3, the majority of it's games aren't in full HD either.

I have 360 and a standard TV. I know the HD experience would be AWESOME. But even on the standard quality, when I get a new game I'm like, OH MAN WHAT GRAPHICS!!! WOW DUDE THIS LOOKS SWEET!!! ...so it's not a problem:P

The graphics are still head and shoulders above previous consoles even on a standard definition television. Admittedly, you can't fully appreciate the beauty of Xbox 360 without HD, but it's still worth purchasing to play great games. I have a standard def t.v. and the games still look great. It can be a little frustrating in games like COD 4, because it can sometimes be difficult to see enemies that are in the far distance. The brightness on my t.v. is also an issue. Games benefit from t.v.'s that are brighter, and my SD t.v. is pretty dark. All things considered, I'd still buy a 360 in a heart beat.
