So I'm sure everyone has heard about the price increase on November 1st... I still will have 7 months left in November(from my 1 year card). Will I be effected in November in any way or will this not effect me until I run out and have to renew my subscription?

It won't affect you until you need to buy a new subscription to XBL.

They're increasing the price of XBL? That's crazy. If anything, they should be lowering the price.

Yep, they are going up $10 us for the 12 month and going up a few dollars for the others as well. Think they are doing it because of espn and hulu plus that will be coming out soon. All I can think of.

It makes perfect sense. Their adding in ESPN 3, Hulu Plus, and Foxtel (for Austrailians). Also Windows Phone 7 integration and possibly features we haven't heard of yet. This is the perfect excuse for them to make more money.

But what about the people who don't use all those features? Why should they have to pay extra? They should just offer different levels of XBL.

Because Microsoft tells them that they have all this new stuff now pay for it all or none of it. I didn't say it was right, but it makes perfect sense on the business side of things.

I don't understand what makes XBL cost 60 dollars. Can someone tell me, because in reality all I do is play games online and that's it, I don't really care about the extra stuff like, facebook. Sure Parties are great but, that's all. XBL in reallity should be $5-10. Another thing, not all my games are online games either, so...

So we have to PAY for something that is free on the Computer? What makes it "plus" Because Hulu is free, as with ESPN, I can watch ESPN on tv, why would on turn on my xbox to watch, whatever it is they will have?

Yeah its funny that they justify charging for Live for things that are free, Twitter, Facebook, ESPN, Netflix etc. none of these things require the 360; can actually be more easily acquired without the 360 and lastly, can be acquired without the extra cost that comes with the 360. So what exactly are we suppose to be paying for?

Jad206 - the Hulu plus if i'm not mistaken is that Hulu themselves are reworking how there system works in that new episodes (or is it the amount of older ones, I can't remember) will only be offered with the plus service.

Also I'm pretty sure the cost is going up for everyone, not just the monthly subscribers.
