Okay. Here we go I'm 13 years old and im buying this myself its now June 19, 2009 I would like to know if it's idk "safe"? Cause i mean I'm 13 don't have a job 300 dollars is ALOT! I just don't wanna get rrod in the first month or a little more. So what I'm asking is should i buy a 360... or another system..gyugyugyu2
The newer 360's are less likely to get the RROD. You just have to make sure you get a newer model. Use google to see how to do that!
The new versions of the 360 are less likely to get teh RRoD, but if it does happen anytime within the first YEAR of purchase. You're automatically covered by microsoft, every electronic product by default gets a one year manufacture garuntee. Or well, that's how it works in the UK.
Haha you'll be fine man i bought mine last year in october and theres been no problems, i was really paranoid it would RROD so i just asked heaps of questions on the matter. If you want to prolong life remember to install your games on to the hard drive, and just keep dust away pretty much so vacuum the floors i guess.I remember i was even lifting it by raising it from the corners and always turning it off by the power but now i don't do that i know its going to stay reliable. As long as your keeping it space to breath and installing your games you'll be all good man.

That would only work if you're buying an Elite, pretty hard to install games when you're buying the Arcade version. ;)
To the original poster ; To be honest, if everyone worried about getting the RRoD, then the 360 wouldn't be the second most popular console this gen. Suck it up, spend the money, and enjoy your 360. I'm sure you'll be fine :)
Okay thanks guys and i think I'm going with the pro though. Since its gonna be 350 for a game and the system i might just save another 50 and splurge for the elite. But idk i know I'm gonna get it. Yea and dumb question how does downloading games help the life?gyugyugyu2Sorry i didn't add this but also whats a good first game to buy i was thinking Oblivion but idk?
Don't worry, if you do get RROD you have a 3 year warranty. Just buy it and see if you like it....it's quite a goos system with some nice games.
