Hey All,

I've read on the differences of XBOX 360 Core, Premium and Elite but was wondering exactly how limited is the Core version? Is it so limited that saving 100 bucks just for the fact of being thrifty is a dumb move? My roommate has a XBOX 360 Premium version but he moved away and so now I have all these games and don't totally feel like spending big bucks on buying a new one. Any help would be much appreciated!

i got the core a year ago and had to buy a memory card as well.  The core is good for casual gamers and i was happy with it at first.  But once i got the urge to play on live i wanted a hard drive for marketplace and downloading demos, also i wanted to start gaming on an hd tv so i needed to get the component cables.  My core recently broke and now im going to buy a premium.

So if you dont care about xbl, Hd, or wirless controlers than the core is right for you, but if you plan to upgrade in the future ur better off with the premium

with the core can you upgrade the HDD at all?  like with my ps3, if i wanted to, i could just install a larger HDD...can one do this with the 360?  also you mentioned XBL....one requires a HDD to play on XBL or?  sorry if i sound so stupid with all this...

yes you can upgrade to the hard drive if you get the core and yes you need one for xbl downloads. the hard drive costs 100 dollars to purchase, which instantly renders the core meaningless, if you plan to upgrade
