if i buy a refurbished elite will i still get warranty from microsoft

Is it refurbished through Microsoft or some other place? If Microsoft refurbished it, then it should come with an updated warranty, but if its a refurbished system through, say, Gamestop or something, then its probably their store warranty only.

Last I checked, a refurb system has a one year warranty.Sins-of-Mosinso will i get the 3 year warranty for my elite incase i get the RROD
you wont get a new warranty, you will get whatever is left of the warranty from when the original owner bought it
well, I know the original warranty works like this
1 year for any problems and concerns
3 years for RRoD or e74 error
Well, buying used is always a pain because if someone has it registered already, you have to call MS and get someone to switch it for you then you can find out how long the warranty still has left. My only experience with it is a friend who got a refurb from another friend. It got RROD so we called and got the name changed so we could look up the warranty. It was fixed in 2007 and the warranty ran out a year later. So, I would say no, you don't get three years from MS. Since you buying from a store, ask them what type of warranty they offer.Sins-of-Mosinthere warranty is like 30 days but the elite im buying is from 08 so if i get the RROD doesnt it expire on 2011 even if its registered

If Microsoft did the fixing and refurbishing and the repackaging of the system, then it should come with a new Microsoft warranty.
If your local store did the fixing and refurbishing, then its pretty much whatever might be left over of the original Microsoft warranty aside from whatever kind of warranty the store might give you.
