whats the point of the 2nd post? anyways... lets see, 360 GOTY... tough one, i gotta go with halo 3, b/c out of the exclusives for 360 it was the best. but of your choices in the poll, bioshock. but overal GOTY i think its gonna be bioshock, crysis or super mario galaxy.
Personally, I think TOB should be GOTY. However, its chance is slim. My realistic projection is Assassin's Creed, with Halo 3 andBioshock coming in behind it.
i gotta go with Bioshock on this one. A story that is better than Mass Effect (I know I'll get flamed), which questions all kind of societal mores, including morality, Christianity, and capitalism;gameplay that's bettr than COD4 (again, enmi opinion), and a ton of other stuff. Oh yeah and graphics.
CoD4 it is the total package. TOB wont get it because its most rereleases of older games. Bioscock has no multiplayer. CoD4 had a really fun story and awesome online.

Ummm, TOB came with 5 games, 2 of which were re-releases. 2/5 is nota majority.
Hmm thought 3/5 were rereleased, I miscounted. Still though H/L ep. 2 and Portal were too short. TF2 is VASTLY underrated though. Probably my favorite online game right now. I still stay with CoD4 as the winner though.

I'm the same. Mass Effect is a seriously awesome game in my opinion+I just beat it today! :D
So Mass Effect is definitely deserving for 360 game of the year but at the same time I'm not sure if it'll be on GS nominations for any game of the year category (360 and/or game of the year) cause it only got an 8.5. :( But at least Spike Tv nominated it for GOTY and at least they understand what good games actually are now, unlike back then when they nominated 50 Cent: Bulletproof for GOTY.
Quit jumping on the "Halo 3 is teh SUXXXORZ !!@221 " band-wagon. It is a great game and it should be acknowledged. Just because it didn't live up to its hype doesn't make it a bad game. Mass Effect didn't live up to its hype either, but I don't see any of you band-wagoners(I made that word up... yes) jumping on the I hate mass effect band-wagon.
i dont think halo 3 should win game of the year just because it doesn't bring anything new to the industry. It's just a really solid fps with addicting multiplayer imo.
Hard to believe that many people will vote for Mass Effect since it hasn't really been out all that long. Orange box was fun as was Halo 3, but nothing that really stood out for me. Yes Halo has good multiplayer, but really for me was pretty much halo 2 all over again, and being a PC gamer as well the orange box was just a jump from PC to XBOX.
So to me its a toss up between Bio and COD4, where I have to go COD4 just for the immersion feel of the game. The graphics make you feel like your finally on a next gen console, and the multiplayer has more customization and playability than halo 3. Bio, none.
I think that Bioshock is the best new IP out there. It's a new twist to a familiar genre.
I haven't played Assassin's Creed so I can't say anything about that either way.
For this, I voted for Halo 3. I don't think I'll ever truly understand why people hate Halo 3. Sure, its graphics aren't as impressive as Gears of War. That and the game itself does resemble Halo 2 but that's not a bad thing. When playing the game, I see it as a title that takes all that was good from the first two games and polishes it up to make a superior third.
The gameplay in Halo 3 is better than either of the first two.
COD4 had a terribly short storyline and some pretty average multiplayer. But it just felt like i was playing COD2 all over again with fancy guns and crazy terrists, plus it tried to hard to be like halo and counterstrike.

Mass effect rulz... from the moment i inserted the disk, created my character and jumped in the game... i was amazed.. the graphx are a lot better than most games out ther... like bioshock, halo 3 (huge halo3 fan;; hence the icon;; but still i felt like bungie left me down on that one) or even cod4... mass effect shud be goty imo. it redefines the meaning of gaming
Hopefully Halo 3 doesn't come out GOTY...I'm thinking COD 4 will. Everyone has already mentioned the highlights of why the game should be #1. Immersion, graphics, gameplay, live features...there's not many flaws to it.
And no I'm not a 'bandwagoner' or whatever you said earlier. I've not been impressed with Halo since the first game released. I had been playing PC shooters long before Halo came out. Halo took what was common amongst shooters at the time and introduced it on Xbox Live. The only thing that was really different to me was the fact you had a rechargable shield and no longer had to hunt for healing/armor items. To me it was nothing exciting and to this day I have never understood why the game is so great in so many eyes. The only thing I can determine was that it was basically the only shooter game of any worth available at the time, played by many kids who never had prior on-line game experience with shooters and have now grown up with the fact that Halo is the best thing out there and games are ripping features off of Halo.
And yes I even bought Halo 3 and was disappointed yet again, and traded the sucker in towards COD 4/Assassin's Creed.
out of those i gotta go w/ halo 3. its a 360 exclusive, and an overall great game that nver gets old. it has one of the best mmultiplayers. i hope they make a 4 but i dont think they will.
My vote went for Mass Effect, but Bioshock is a really close second.
I just think it's great that two games as beautiful and artistic as Mass Effect and Bioshock are on the 360. And the fact that there is no unanimous winner is a clear testament to the quality of all the games on the list, and thats not even including all the great games that came out this year.
I actually don't care which game wins, I already won by playing them all. I just hope they all sell well; to send a message to developers and stockholders that games that are different and break the cliches can and will be successful. Here's to hoping that more games of this outstanding quality release in the future...
All of those are great games and its really close. I think Assassins creed should be in there because it was a great game that added new things and that its not a fps.
If Mass Effect doesn't win it i would like to see halo 3 get goty just because it was a great value with tons of content. But thats if Mass Effect doesnt win. God knows what gamespots picks are, there just as randy as IGN these days. GAMETRAILERS FTW!
