I played on a 27inch SD for over a year before I bought my 37 inch HD LCD. I found that with some games the menus and writing were small and hard to read but i still had fun with all the games. You'll be fine! Start saving for that HD TV!

Cheers!

Mines hooked up to a 56 cm Sanyo I bought in 2001. The games look great, and that text problem doesn't occur in the slightest everything is easy to read etc..

Even on 21 SD TVdinjo_jo
Avoid Dead rising though, since it's one of the few game that wasn't optimized for SD playing. Other than that, Xbox is still playable on a 21 SD TV!

I've been playing all my 360 games including Dead Rising on a 21" SD TV for years, no problems here.

Before I got my LCD HDTV I played RE5 and Gears of War 2 on a 20" standard TV. they worked fine. they don't look as good as they do in HD, but you can still tell the graphics are good.

I play on a 27" SDTV with 16:9 capabilities (widescreen) and it's still pretty bad. The text sometimes get squished and illegible.

If you don't know anything else, I'm sure it will be fine. I got a 50" HDTV like 4 months before I got my first 360. So, I've been playing on an HDTV for like 4 years. I spent a couple days at my parent's house last month and brought my 360 with me. I hooked it up to a 25" SDTV and it drove me nuts. I ended up turning it off.

It will be playable, but a better solution is to buy the 360 VGA cable, and plug it into your PC monitor - which should be capable of atleast 1280x720 (720p), and probably isn't all that much smaller than a 21" SDTV, but would give a noticeably better image. The 360 VGA cable even comes with suitable audio adaptors to use it with regular PC speakers

Screw SDTV, PC monitors are where it's at, getting 1080p for less than $300 is amazing.

When I first got a 360 I played on a Standard TV for a month or so... I couldn't take it and went and got a PC monitor and hooked it up with the VGA cable.

Now I play on an HDTV I wouldn't say it was that different than using a PC monitor (as you sit closer to that,) but I can't even imagine having a standard definition TV now.

Yes, because you can use HD res like 720p and 1080p.

I would recomend putting your xbox display setting on widesceen. In sports games like NHL 09 you can barley see half of the zone with the non widescreen setting.

You need a VGA cable, you're better off spending a bit extra to get the official Microsoft cable as it's shielded so does a better job. I got one and the picture is very sharp on my 19" monitor.

Hell no. You'll have trouble reading things in most games. Also, you'll get pwnd in shooting games, especially if you use sniper rifles or are shooting from far away. Get a real TV with the money first. I highly advise it.

No, you will need to buy a VGA cable separately.

Per microsoft, all 360 games must be designed/developed to be playable on a 19" or larger SDTV. All text and related must be visable/readable on a 19" SDTV.

So your good playing on your 21" SDTV.
