Alright, got a few questions:

1)  If I plopped my hard drive from Pro and put it on Core, i'd still get to access my xbl account, right?  (that would be with internet connection)

2)  The core and pro look the same, right?  No different paint finishes or stuff like that?

3)  My composite plug (that's what it's called, right?) from the pro can still plug in and fit in the core, right?

thanks to anyone who answers.  I was planning on doing this with my friends core, just wondering if it would work.

If you take your hard drive from your Premium and stick it on your Core - then it's essentially the exact same as the Premium.

The hard drive...

1) Allows you to save your games progress

2) Enabables the backward compatability listings for Xbox1

3) Allows you to download demos and additional maps and content (like additional quests for Oblivion or maps for Gears of War) from XboxLive

4) Plus you can store videos, pictures, music and other stuff there as well - but those are secondary reasons you need a HD.

1. yes you will still have your account and everything as long as you have the same HDD

2. The premium and core have 2 diffrent finishs the premium has a chrome disc tray finish and the core has a white finish on the disc tray

3. The same cable can fit into the core from your premium.
