I used a cheap little 8gb Lexor Flash Drive to transfer my files to my new 360 S. Since I had so much I had to transfer game data in two doses. The first round of transfer went well and everything was successfully added to the new HDD. On the second round of transfer I plugged my flash drive into the 360 and began transferring my files. I left the room for about 30 minutes so that it would be done by the time I got back. When I got back most of everything had transferred successfully but about 20 files or so didn't. There's an exclamation next to each file and when I try to transfer it tells me the data is corrupted. I went through the proper steps when setting up my flash drive for data transfer. My question is, since these files are still technically stored onto my flash drive is there a way I can recover and repair the corrupted data? I didn't lose anything grossly important but I'd like to keep as many of my game saves as possible obviously. I browsed the web as much as I could looking for help but I either didn't find anything or didn't find anything promising. Thank you for any help!

Never use a cheap USB drive for large or important file transfers.

This is why you should have used the recommended Data Transfer Kit.

You had a hard drive, correct? Just remove the corrupted files on the USB drive and replace them, and if you don't have any other copy of the file then there is nothing you cand o.

These guys are right. You probably would have been better off using the real transfer kit, but to answer your question, you cannot just repair corrupted data. There's nothing you can do about that. You're transferring data from your old 360 HDD to your flash drive, then from your flash drive to your new 360? So shouldn't you have the original data still on your old 360 HDD? You aren't just moving the data from your HDD when you transfer it to your flash drive are you? You should COPY the data, so that the original data is still on the old HDD, so that if you do get a case of corrupted data, you still have the original data backed up on your original HDD.

Well i have run into the same problem. I had to buy a new xbox..4th one since they have come out..can we say xbox=crap..yes we can. It says you can transfer your data with a usb. I went and bought a new 16g usb and a new xbox. Plugged the new usb in my elite console and did a format. I moved all of my games over to it. It won't let you make a copy to back them up it just moves the from one place to another. I plugged it into my new xbox slim console and pulled it up. I pulled everything up on the jumpdrive and played the game for about an hour. I planned on leaving my games on the jumpdrive because I travel and so I was going to leave my games on the jumpdrive. Well the next morning when I turned my xbox on and went to play my game it wanted to reconfigure the jumpdrive. This would erase all the info if anything was on there so I didn't. So it wouldn't pull it up either so I llost all of my games which is 1000's of hours if you play like me. Desperate I look online on retrieving lost fiiles and found some software. I found all my files on my jumpdrive and put them on a folder on my computer. Problem I have now is I still cant put them on the jumpdrive. The jumpdrive can only be formatted for the xbox or my personal computer so when I plug it into the xbox it wants to reconfigure too even look at its contents. If I reconfigure it and plug it into my computer it shgows it has no free space too put the came data on. So if there is a super computer genius out the that can help please do. I have all my data in a folder on my computer and can do nothing wiith it. Please help!

Hey Billingsley77 I had the same problem. I was selling modern warfare 2 console to get new slim console so had all my stuff on HP branded usb drive. Ended with almost identical results. If i may ask, what software did you use and have you had any success since posting?

see if you can access the files in your HD on a computer. then use Xport360 to move those files to your USB.

I had the same problem, but what happened to me was that I used a third party transfer kit, which corrupted my HD that even the microsoft brand cable wouldn't recognize my HD.

so i used the third party kit to connect my HD to my PC, then view the files using Xport360, and transfer the saves to a USB hard drive, which i then transferred to my 360 Slim.

Hope that wasnt confusing :X
