post your dream specs for the next xbox. and please hardware only, if u dont understand tech jargon, this isnt for you. Mine are: -processor equivalent to i7 in power. They should just keep developing the xenon processor to make it more powerful, cpu bottleneck hasnt really been an issue this gen. - GPU equivalent to the power of a 580. This could run most (if not all) games at 1080p @60fps if properly optimized. Especially on consoles, optimization is more important than brute force like on the pc. A 580 and a good cpu could be optimized to run games as well as a 590 on PC. They should use a fermi chip, or even a kepler chip if thats feasible for them. - A **** of RAM, 2gb ddr5 dedicated to the GPU and 4 gb ddr3 for everything else. - Blu Ray drive at 2x, maybe pushing it to 4x, anything above that will be too loud. - An effective cooling system - they should make sure to optimize their gpu and cpu to keep them quiet and cool. - built in wifi (obviously), - 1 usb 3.0 and 1 2.0 - sd card reader

- AMD Quad Core APU with a dedicated AMD GPU.

- 4+ gigs of system ram and at least 2 gigs for video.

- Blu-ray, or proprietary format that can hold at least 25 gigs of data.

- Form Factor that prevents overheating issues.

- Hardware should be able to run most games with high detail in 1080p at 30fps.

why settle for just 30 fps lol, i think in most online games 60fps would be a necessity while in a game like say metro 2034... if it has ultra uber sexy graphics, 30fps would be acceptable( but locked for sue, any drops below 28fps next gen would be a fail

Yeah, would be great if most games ran at 60 fps. I'd at least hope the bare minimum would be 30.

I like 30fps for action games, because it gives it a more cinematic look. I prefer 60fps for racing games.

Thing is consoles slaes isn't really set out to make profits. it's the accessories, games, stocks, ect that makes the profit. AND When company want to use other company parts in mass production. They usually get couple company's and start a bidding war to get the price lower. Then plus the retailers profit is cut out unlike if they was selling to just one customer.

Quad core processor 4-6 GB RAM 500 GB HDD minimum BluRay 6 USB minimum resolution 720p mandatory and all games run at 60 fps Kinect built in to the console. No more sensor bar!!! Oh yes and MS must do all of this and stay under $500. Sony tried to charge for "superior technology" and got OWNED for it!

while i agree that it should have higher than 30fps dont use metro as an example because just like crysis its not the graphics that kill computers its the engine that ts not well optimized as for my specs

-ability to reach through mic and smack 9 yo playing games they shouldnt be and complaining

-its own e-z bake oven

-reddbull dispenser

-name that does not suck

-no call of duty

:D my dream console !!! but srsly

-more v-ram

-faster processor

-better gpu

-blu-ray

-bigger, cheaper HDD

-better quality

-better heatsinks and fans that dont sound like i live next to the LIRR

-and mic's and controllers that did not break in a month

Keep costs low. Quad-Core CPU from Intel @ 3.5Ghz 4GB RAM, 1GB VRAM, 500GB HDD, Wireless N and I'd be okay with that all for a price point under $399

What it should have (realistically)

Cheap AMD Quad

1 GDR5 GPU (most important by far)

2-4 Gigs of RAM

USB 3.0

Big HDD (install required)

No BLURAY

500$

in my experience amds are prone to overheating and failure. I dont know if they changed their game in the past 2 years though. But Amds run at almost double the clock speeds of intels to get the same power too make up for their cheap chipsets. Sony and Microsoft should stick to IBM like they always have in the past. And i think 2 or 3 gb ddr5 would be best in order to give the console a long lifespan while still delivering somewhat up to date visuals. 1gb would be fully exploited within the first 2 years. Given what happened this gen sony and microsoft should stick as much RAM as possible in their machines. And no blu-ray? Are u maad bro? Bandwidith and download speeds are no where near what is necessary to feasibly release every game online for digital download. Plus its always safer to to have physical copies. Blu-ray discs can hold up to 200gb so it is a must for next gen.

Because blu-ray would jack up the price ALOT. I wouldn't mind if each game was 3 discs and you had to install them, kind of like some computer games

Dont tell Sony, but Panasonic and many many others are secretly making BR players behind their backs.
