Its actully your case doing it, they changed the material to a cheaper plastic and it actually cracks the disks a bit sometimes.... try and be a little gentler and you should be ok

you should get a replacement, if that disk is used more, it could crack inside the player

How do you pull your discs out of their cases? Are you pressing down on the button in the middle to release them or are you just pulling them from the edge. If you keep pulling them out by the edge the discs bend. That could be contributing to the cracks in the middle. Be gentle.

it has to be. This must not have happened to you until now...and these games are some of the first with the crap plastic cases and they're the only ones getting this.

If you think about it, lots of strain is put down right on the middle when you're trying to open the case, I know my COD case is going to sag inwards from both sides from opening it.

it is due to the new cases being used. They are supposed to be eco friendly I think. The only way they are ecofriendly is they have no plastic to protect the bottom of the disk. They are ripoffs if you ask me

It is the cases, it happens if you don't look after your game properly

None of my games are like that. You're probably just handling your games improperly.

The new eco friendly cases are not just a Microsoft thing. A lot of companies are starting to do it. And the xbox itself is not going to create those cracks. Sorry if I offend you, but you might have to take the blame yourself. Pulling the disc out of the case over and over, it could just be wear and tear. I know a lot of people handle their discs. Even if you press the button in the middle, say with your thumb, you're pressing down on the middle of the disc, then you'll pull up on the edge of the disc with another finger, bending the disc causing cracks in the middle. It's that first time pulling it out that's the worst. If it doesn't pop so easily the first time, I always try to press in on the button enough to pop the disc completely before grabbing the edge so as not to bend it.

Same thing happened to me with my Gears of War 2 disc. I always handle the disc carefully. I immediately suspected the new cases or possibly faulty discs.

You know, it's funny... as long as we've had discs like this now, and yet the cases that are supposed to keep them safe end up usually doing more damage to them. :? Doesn't make sense to me.

I've gone through two Halo 3 discs because of cracks and one copy of Guitar Hero Metallica. All because the clear center (near the hole) started to crack and I baby my games.

If your discs show signs of cracking from the centre I suggest storing them in a CD wallet as it removes the potential to damage your discs putting them in / taking them out of game cases.

I noticed that getting FIFA 10 is rough on the disc, even pushing the middle thingy, I also have this doubt about it cracking waht I did is exchange the cases with other games that I don't play regularly

I've wondered about whether or not the console would crack a disc like that, and I really do not know. What I do know is that my Halo 3 disc cracked in a period of time when I rarely took it out of the console, and when I did, I did not put it back in its case (which was an older style of case than what is being used now). I also had a Left 4 Dead disc crack in a similar manner. However, my Far Cry 2 case is extremely tight and requires more force to get a game in or out of it, but my Far Cry 2 disc is perfectly fine.

While inconclusive, that leads me to believe that something other than the case contributed to the cracking. Maybe the cracked discs had a defect that made them more prone to cracking than my Far Cry 2 disc. I don't know, but I am certain that the discs can crack even when you handle them properly.

It is the cases. some are made with the harder to press button which flexes your disc when you put it in it. This is how my Bioshock died and why I cry every night because of that. Just be careful and more gentle with putting your games away.

its the disc drive, because my national lampoon dvd got cracks in the same spot and we know dvd cases dont crack em , ,i did actually a stress test on a brand new copy of smackdown vs raw 2010 ,

not only did it crack the disc but when i first played i noticed after 10 minutes of play the disc had a small scrastch around the center

and your saying its the cases

its not , because i had 5 gta ivs crack in the same area , ,

3 saints rows also did this and a copy of wwe 2008 and crackdown all from one 360

i put that 360 out of commision and im using another one and i haven t had a problem since

On my take on this. I'm going to say it's the case. Some of those cases just don't want to let the game go. My GRAW 2 got a crack in the middle due to the case not making it easy to take the game out.

Do not listen to the people trying to tell you that it is the case that is causing the cracks. I just recently started to have the same problem and it happened while my disc was in my 360. I had the same game (NCAA2010) in my 360 for a couple weeks and suddenly, while playing, I got the "disc scratch error". I took the disc out and saw no surface scratches, so I put it back in and got the same thing. So I took it out again and noticed two small cracks coming from the center of the disc. I wrote it off as a freak thing, until I put it Dragon Age this weekend and after a few hours of play I got the "disc scratch error". I took it out and sure enough a crack from the center that went far enough into the disc to completely ruin this one. I have noticed some clunky noises coming from my drive recently, so I'm going to assume the two are related. I remember once reading something posted by some tech geek that said the drive doesn't cycled down, instead it just stops spinning abruptly, which obviously would be hard on discs. I'm not sure what to think, but I know for a fact my games did not get cracked from removing them from the case.

Those guessing about what the problem is...it's the cases. The pin in the middle that holds the disk into place cracks the center over time, and seems to always happen with most 360 game disk. I don't know why they don't reinforce the middle plastic portion. The crack eventually spreads and then you have a useless game disc that wont play or plays a little and then crashes. That said..don't push the disc down over the pin..i let it rest on top and leave it that way. Or invest in a disc pouch thingy and store them in there.
