my friend has his xbox hacked that can run pirated game and NOOOO its not me i am a ps3 gamer just curious !! so he recently bought it and got it hacked now he has a 1 month free xbox live gold membership and he is playing online with his pirated games my question is why isnt he banned uptill now its been a week and i feel jealous as psn is dead :'(thenoobdudemicrosoft sometimes doesnt notice things...people will have to report him alot to get him banned....but that also means annoying kids will just try to get you banned for the fun of it which is bad....try going to xbox.com, that might give you more info
Well were really not supposed to talk about such things but ill try to sum it up for you. Live can detect modded consoles quite easily but you dont have to mod your console to play pirated games. I wont go into depth though as well were not supposed to talk about piracy here . All i can say is that it involves the disc drive. Your friend can play pirated games but the real question is can he cheat in said games ect? probably not because his system isn't modded. Live wont detect that and so he wont get banned.
By the way im not a hacker but i do have someone on my friends list that unfortunately partakes in the same thing.
Ban waves usually go out right before a big title is released (there was one before ODST and MW2 I believe). Microsoft does have to find the "corrupted" consoles though. They all ways do and I wouldn't be surprised if 500k people are banned a week before GOW3 is released.XenoLairThats exactly what i heard that depending what the person is doing with their hacked console/copied games usually depends when they get banned. I know ppl who play copied games for ages but then microsoft do bulk banning on all these people. Other people who hack their gamer score get dealt with differently, basically its not worth it because nobody gets away with it for long its better to just buy games or use a rental site if you want to play lots at low cost

The thing is though that during these ban waves MS has only been banning consoles not GT's. Most of the pirates just go out and get another xbox and still get to use their GT so it's really not stopping them.

Yeh i noticed this, its almost like xbox dont mind people cheating as long as they're making money from it so let people keep the tags to recover on new xbox'sPlease Log In to post.
