Xbox live connection help.....

I can't get connected to xbox live. I go to test my connection and it says

Ip address - Connected

DNS          - Connected

MTU          - Failed.              What is MTU? and how do i fix it?  I tried unplugging everything but it still won't connect.

Did you check that your router firewall was turned off because with mine if my firewall is on than I cant get into Xbox Live.
