Do you have a wireless phone?

Try changing your frequency on your router.

You need to install filters on each of your phone jacks.

They are available at any stores and cost practically nothing.

What are these fillers you speak of lol? I DC completely from the Internet when someone dials up from downstairs to get buzzed in (I live in an Apartment), but regular phone calls are no problem.

Seems like the installer didn't put the splitter at the right place. Some buildings they have to add a splitter to seperate the dsl signal before it reaches the door answerer.

Some cordless phones operate on the same frequency as most wireless routers - so make sure you get a cordless phone that operates on a 5.8Mhz or higher frequency. I had a similar issue at miy house, I don't have dsl, I have internet thru the cable, but my phone was messing up my router - bought new phones that run on a 6.0 Mhz, not problem since then

Is there anyway to do this without purchasing new phones?

The dsl must be connected to the first outlet of the house/appartment. Either connect it to the first outlet or get a cheap adapter (5-10$ iirc) that makes the current outlet count as the first one.(Exchanging phones won't help if its that problem).

Mine was doing that too. Do a google search. You have to change a setting in your router. I think mine had 6 diff. settings for it. Its an address on the internet and i cant remember exactly how to do it but like i said, just google it........

Here is my post when i was having the problem and changing the channel fixed it. I do have filters and it has nothing to do with the problem. Do a google search on how to change router channels.......

Why is someone lying to him? I had the same exact problem with the same exact settup. His phone is using the same channel as his router. He just needs to change his router to a diff. channel......

Perhaps, but DSL uses the phone line. If filters arent on each phone in the house, the incoming call interrupts the data signal, hence the DC.

Yours may be the solution as well, i dont have much experience with wireless networks.

have you actualy tried getting in contact with the ddudes who made the router or the phone or your internet service provider?

Not saying that you shouldnt be asking here but tech support should always be your first port of call, THEN come to the forum full of gamers :)

@ ctudude Say's his door answerer disconnect's him. That wouldn't have anything to do with cordless phones and filters.
