Xbox Live Issues and Call of Duty 4 Ranking Problems

ok so first of all when i sign in my profile it logs me in, but doesn't connect me to xbox live. So i click the connect to xbox live button and it signs me in, but on the homepage it still says that i'm not logged in. The ____ # of friends online thing pops up and the message saying that i'm connected to xbox live pops up, but i can't view my friends or go to marketplace because my dashboard still thinks i'm offline. That's annoying, but when i go into a game it signs me in again and then i can view my friends and everything works fine.

Second, and this may be related to my first complaint, in Call of Duty 4 i am level 20 of the first prestige. I rank up and get to 27-28 and then don't play for a few days and my rank goes back down to 20. This has happened 3 times now!!! It is really annoying because i lose all my guns and perks that i have unlocked and level 20 is like 2 levels below the claymores so it's really infuriating. I can rank up to whatever levle and turn off my xbox and come back on and everythign is usually ok, but if i don't play for a day or 2 then it goes back down to level 20.

I don't know if these problems are related to all of the issues with Xbox Live Servers and stuff, but if anyone knows anything i'd love to hear from you.

I had a similar problem when I keep getting bumped back to 21 when I ranked up, it happened about 3 or 4 times. I stopped playing for acouple dayscause it pissed me off and then the ranks worked fine. Im not sure what the problem is but Im pretty sure it will stop bring u back down to 20 eventually. Sorry I couldnt be more help COD4 has a few issues like this online.
