I currently have an average speed of 30KB/s, but i can get up to 50KB/s. Yes, i know i have bad internet. I was thinking of getting Xbox Live, and my friends tell me I can play Modern Warfare 2 and Halo: Reach at that speed. Does any have any other views or advice??

If you have a broadband connection of some sort, you should be fine. Online gaming is more about response time than bandwidth.

It's unlikely that he'll ever get picked as host by matchmaking.

If he plays Gears of War 2 he'll always be host.
