Xbox Live problems - Anyone else experiencing this?

I may just be starting something about which the discussion has already been finished but, I'm getting lots of problems with Xbox Live.

At first I thought it was because my months trial was running out but I've just put on a years subscription and it's still playing up. The connection is ludicrously slow, despite the fact that I have a good router, a fast broadband speed and relatively low bandwidth use by other devices.

i keep getting errors, telling me a variety of things including "You are connected to the internet fine, but could not connect to xbox live" which, well seems more like its their problem than mine but, if that's the case why do other people seem to be fine?

I just want to know if anyone else has this issue, or has had this issue and knows a fix...I feel rather irate that I paid for a years subscription for this service when my PS3 offers something, maybe a little more laggy, but a little less volatile than this!?

I haven't been able to download anything ~ It will start then at 1% say it can download it because of problems connecting to xbox live :( but i'm still signed on

I have the same problem, it's been about 2 weeks now and 85% of the time live is to slow to do anything.

Don't really know the cause, I thought after Tuesday's patch it might have been fixed.

So it's not just me then.
I mean, its not just downloads with me, its everything. I try to sign in to my account, there's a problem, It took me 20 minutes to get into one impossible-to-play laggy game of CoD: WaW.

Anyone know a fix, or a temporary solution.

So this may be a problem with the UK server...I'm hoping anyway, I hope we're not just being singled out!

The only thing I've seen is that in Cod 4 multiplayer it says that there are 0 players online and it takes longer to start a match.

If you haven't been paying attention there was a major Xbox Live update a couple of days ago and the service was down for much of the day and night. When it came back up people were having all sorts of problems with downloading and purchasing things from the marketplace among some other things. But MS is fully aware of this and are working to fix the problems as we speak. Yes I know we're paying for this service and it sucks when there are problems, but other than the occasional hiccup during major updates like this, it is a great service that I rarely have issues with. Think about how many times your cable and internet service goes down. I know its quite a good service otherwise. Mine was working fine, literally until I turned it on today. I assumed it was probably to do with the updates but could not find any info on the official Xbox sites...nice to know it's not just me!

I'll leave it a while and hope it improves.
