is it worth getting the arcade version? my launch just got the rrod and people keep telling me the arcade version has new chips or a new proccessor or something like that, does anyone know if this is true or not?

it is i got an arcade one back in may after my 360 elite died. and i have had no problems with the arcade. buy the arcade

So you have a HD right? With your RROD 360. Get the arcade then, no point in paying for a HD when you have one. If you don't, then I don't recommend an Arcade at all. Some great games are on XBLA, plus with the option of installations coming in an update soon, more reason to have storage space.

My educated guess would be that the guts are the same as in the other ones. It definitely wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to put newer/better stuff in the low-end model and not in the expensive one. I have always thought that all of those models are the same inside, it's just the accessories (hdd being the biggest) that make up the price difference.

So, in your case, I would guess that you're going to get the same mobo/cpu as when you buy the new 60 gig Pro model.

yeah I have the HD thats why i was getting it!!!

th3dz I was asking about the chips because I heard it runs smoother/quieter and has less chance of getting the rings of death
