I see nothings changed here. Still a buncha randos who aren't even part of the Gamespot community trying to solicit their channel to make their numbers go up...
I posted here when I first started streaming earlier this year. I now have 46 followers and average almost 4 viewers per stream. Crazy I know. I didn't expect to blow up so quickly. I'm pretty much famous.
But **** all that. I don't do any social media, and I think treating yourself as a "brand" is weird. I'm a lifelong gamer, I do it for the love of the game, not the money and fame.
I see a lot of zoomers on Twitch pumping out the same old crap. The Fortnites, tik toks, and whatever other stuff is trendy. I don't follow trends. I play what I want to play, old and new. I play the latest blockbusters, retro games, all genres...it don't matter, I love it all. And I love talking with others who share the same passion for games as I do.
Check the account age, the number of posts. I've been active in this community since I was a dumb kid just discovering the internet. If you're a real one who's been gaming since before the internet, if you think tik tok sucks, then you will more than likely enjoy your time in my stream.
Tho it's been slow to build a community organically, I'm happy with the folks who regularly pop in and the talks we have. We got folks of all ages stopping in, and to my surprise, a lot of them are in their 30's and above. There's a lot more "old doods" on Twitch than I expected when I started.
I'll take a small tight-knit community of real ones over a large group of clout chasers any day. Come hang and talk about games and yell at clouds with us. Who knows, you might even make some random internet friends.
