Great Great Game. Just too short.

Brought all the strengths from HL2 and places it into one very sweet package.
Gameplay: 9 (great character relationships / condensed intense action however ends before you know it) Graphics: 9 (noticeable improvements from the Source Engine like bloom effects and concentrated facial expressions)... Read Full Review

Considering this was released 2 years after Half Life 2, there is very little improvement and new content.
Half Life 2 is one of my favourite games of all time. It's atmosphere, creative gameplay, revolutionary graphics and amazing level designs made it one of the only few games to ever challenge it's predeccessor at all. It ... Read Full Review

The best parts of Half Life 2 crammed into three hours.
Having been somewhat disappointed by Half Life 2 I went into this game expecting more of the same drawn out sequences of talking and driving. Instead I ended up playing three hours of the game Half Life 2 should have bee... Read Full Review

If you have played Half Life 2 you will be wanting to do the episodes. This first episode is great.
Oh boy you start near the crumbling Citadel 17..... Perched on a cliff mind you. Alyx is with you, as is Dog. The entry to the citadel is amazing as Dog throws you inside a van into the building and you do this amazing... Read Full Review

Its half-life, but sadly very, very, very short. Really easy end boss fight at the end.
The game picks off where half-life 2 ended, with *Spoiler Alert* The citadel going *BOOM* and as you and Alyx Vance fly down to the hard, merciless, floor. However, some vortigaunts save you with usual vortigaunt magic. Y... Read Full Review

A good sequel to Half Life 2, but the thrills don't last long.
Episode 1 picks up where Half Life 2 left off. You start out outside of the citadel when it is getting ready to explode. In this game you are trying to get out of City 17 before it blows up. Episode 1 does a lot of thing... Read Full Review

A standalone (very alone) part of HL2.
HL2E1 could be a part of the original HL2. It is very short, looks very similar, has almost nothing new in it in comparison to HL2. However, the feeling about it is that it was made by a different team (the same feeling ... Read Full Review

Half-Life 2: Episode 1 is a fun, if all too brief addition, to the series. However, it's a hard sell on its own.
Pros: Pretty engaging from start to finish; Having company is a nice change of pace; Presentation aspects are just as good as Half-Life 2 Cons: Extremely short; Avoids really addressing the story too much; Doesn't do ... Read Full Review

another great release of HL2....
All half-life releases have something that very few games could be proud of: an amazing, coherent, solid storyline, that makes half-life series, a stand alone event, in gaming world. I beleive that half life may not (it ... Read Full Review
