Hexen is a pretty cool game. The graphics and sound give you a constant sense of danger. The gameplay is a good balance of hand-to-hand and mystic combat. The monsters? Man, those guys are crazy! You've got the 2-he... Read Full Review

To be honest during that time there were a very few games that could rival Doom 2. Hexen was one of them.
After playing Doom 2 in early 1996, I was frantically looking for a game that's action packed enough to make my fingers numb. I bumped on to Hexen and found it a rewarding experience. Hexen was built on Doom 2's engine.... Read Full Review

While it does a better job at pointing out the Doom engine's flaws, theres a very fun time to be had in Hexen.
Hexen came out a very long time ago, 1995 to be exact. it is a sequel to the game Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders. Like Heretic, it uses a Doom engine, and by this time, the Doom engine was starting to get a little... Read Full Review

Distinguished by a very modest role-playing element...
Selections were limited in the early days of first-person shooters, so the notion of replaying a game more than once (or twice, or ten times) was certain. A dedicated player could approach the same battle from different... Read Full Review

Hexen is a nice game, but its a very confusing and hard game.
Hexen plays alot like the Doom games, but looks different. Hexen is all about completing puzzles and killing monsters and stuff. Gameplay: Nice gameplay. +Different classes, which also increases the value of the ga... Read Full Review

While Hexen is technically competent, the experience itself is more frustrating than fun.
Riding on the heels of Doom's phenomenal success, Raven Software created the first two games of their Serpent Riders series with the Doom engine. The first was Heretic, a decent but unremarkable medieval game that was pr... Read Full Review
