What Gamespot Users have to say about Velvet Assassin

Don't bother, save your cash. Maybe if I were 9yrs and this was my first game (maybe!). Damnation will be far better.
This game is so bloody old already. It has been done too death. The playing area is so narrow you can hardly turn around. Don't go by any trailer you might have seen, the game of course is not even remotely close. Why ar... Read Full Review

Stealth games like Thief or Splinter Cell stripped of their core elements
I'm sorry to say this but Velvet Assassin does a terrible job of being a stealth game. Unfortunately it lacks all the positive aspects that make other stealth games really fun and enjoyable. First off, its biggest defici... Read Full Review

Meh.
The Controls are Stiff. The Graphics are somewhat behind the times. The Gameplay Is Boring and uninspired. The AI is 'Special'. The Story is Meh. The Gunplay is just horrible. The Music Hurts My Ears. The Shading ... Read Full Review

Thief clone (stealth game). Great graphics. Game-play is very often mindbogglingly senseless. Storyline makes no sense.
Velvet assassin is a stealth fps game in the same class as the Thief series. Beautiful graphics on highest resolution. The storyline makes no sense, jumping from past to present (future? --i don't know...) and adds nothi... Read Full Review

Velvet Assassin is a stealth based WWII game that has some similarities to the Splinter cell series. Like in splinter cell, you creep around in dark corners avoiding the light at all costs. Once your seen, its kind of ha... Read Full Review

Dense and bold. A steatlh game like no other!
I don´t know what´s happening with the game press. Games without hype are judged in a very strict way while hyped game are received with arms wide open. Velvet Assassin does not reinvent the wheel in game mechanics. ... Read Full Review

The game surely has potential. The graphics are really great. The storyline it's nice but it may become repetitive.

A decent stealth game that gets the atmosphere and tension down to a "T" but not worth the asking price.
I picked this up from Steam after the initial release a week ago. The game seemed to be getting decent player reviews and that usually helps me decide to buy a game or not. Velvet Assassin is a stealth game and nothi... Read Full Review

Nice dark atmosphere, tedious and repetitive gameplay
There's really no reason to play this game, Splinter Cell Double Agent takes this game and slaps it in the face with it's private parts. Sound and atmosphere give the game it's 5.0 score out of 10... but from there on... Read Full Review
