Awesome game! Please someone tell me what's going on?

Let me start by saying, this is the best looking console game ever! And the graphics are just the beginning. The gameplay is close to perfection and you'll forget there's a controller in your hand. The cover system is a blessing, and forces you use it wisely. Popping up and taking out the locust is as fun as it gets, and the only thing that gets repetitive is, Dom getting himself killed whenever he runs right into the middle of six locusts(you'll "love" him when you get to General Raam). Sometimes he doesn't even shoot. Luckily, the campaign mode has co-op support both on and off line. So get a friend and blast away. Though someone at Epic could have suggested to inform people why, exactly, you're doing this. The story sounds pretty cool, but you have to read the instruction manual or a strategy guide to know what it is. The game itself never really tells you why you're doing, what you're doing. Not that you need a reason to chainsaw, curb stomp, or grenade tag fools, but it would be nice.
On to the multiplayer. Best. Xbox Live. Game. Period. Who would think that having only 8 players could be so wonderful. No game on xbox live makes you work with your teammates as well as Gears does. Teamwork is absolutely essential and is very rewarding. The game mechanics work great for online multiplayer. G.R.A.W. would be a lot better if you could take cover in versus mode and this proves it. Yet to see any lag and there are always plenty of people to play with and against. I have to go, I have'nt cut a locust in half in almost 6 minutes
