An enjoyable game, sure. A memorable game, I don't think so.
So I did. I enjoyed it, but it was definitely not my favorite game in the world. I would preferably play Resident Evil and Timesplitters instead of that game. Then the sequel came out. I believed it was no different, what did everyone love about Halo? What was so special about that game? Yes, it was fun, but not an incredibly exciting game. The levels were all the same. Could the creators not think of anything new to put in the game?
I had to listen to my brother talk and explain how good the sequel was going to be for months. I loved having a co-op game to play with my brother, but at what cost? Then Halo 2 came out. despite what everybody said, this game was no different. The graphics hadn't improved. The gameplay didn't further itself. The new rifle that had replaced the lovable Assault Rifle was terrible.
I tried to explain my reasoning to my one-sided brother, but to no avail. I was constantly blown off and told that I was an idiot. Then I would go to school and my friend would go on and on about how much he loved the Halo series. Should he buy an Xbox? Should he go over to this friend's house to play Halo? I quickly began to despise the game ever so much.
I, to this day, do not believe it is such a fantastic game. I still get lectures on how great the game is, but I have learn to ignore them completely. I have an opinion for the game and no one will change that. NO, I don't despise the game anymore. However, it is not worth $200 (for the console and game) to play this game.
So now they make Halo 3. Will I play it on my brother's new Xbox 360? Probably. Will I change my opinion about the series? Of course not. I do not think this 'okay' series needs yet another sequel. I think that this game was fine at first, but is now slowly going downhill.
P.S. Fine, I wil admit this game has an excellent musical score.
