HARD AS HELL!
You play as Marsu, a marsupial that needs to take his elephant friend back to the jungle. Nothing much here. The first level is a sort of instruction , has you will get used to the gameplay with time, but when i got this game i was like 7 so its obvious i didn't know how to play this game or to beat the level at the end (you needed to let the elephant drink some water and them jump into him when hes near some flaming bow).
After i realized i was supposed to take the elephant to the end of the level every time and use Marsu's tail has some tool i got used to the game. Basically the tail can transform into stairs, a pole, a mouse etc... all to get that fat elephant to the end.
You go through a vast vary of levels and i must say the graphics are amazing (since its for Genesis), bright colors, animation all around, really good. There are alot of enemies and the boss fights are epic.
The music isn't excellent but it somewhat good. There are a few tracks that get stuck into your ear, while others are annoying.
Now, what really screws this game is the INSANE hard difficult on it. I mean, delivering a fat elephant to the end of the level, every time, using Marsu's tail and trying to think what the hell to do to overcome some "impossible path" or obstacle is bad. But you dont even have time to think, because you got a time limit. Thats right, and it isn't 10 minutes, its less them 5 or 3. The levels, specially the later ones, are to big and complex for a little kid to think. Even has an adult, its hard as hell to know what you should do next. You will probably just see the time flying away. Theres some items that give you extra time, but this extra time would be some more 30 seconds. Yup.
The elephant is hard to control/orientate (remember you dont have any control on him what so ever), and the most little error, like letting an enemy touching him, letting him run down a mountain or whip him the wrong way will result in the fatty drop from a hight part of level into the start at the bottom, forcing you to do things all over again! I never in my life beat this game. I reached the final boss once, ONCE and lost on it. I never touched this game again. The last level, The Jungle, is a pain in the ass. There are so many goddamn things on the way, wrong paths etc...
Oh did i told you each level has 3 sections? Yes, and even if you put the password, you always start on the first section! Oh and if you reach the final boss and lose, you will start from the stage BEFORE The Jungle level act 1? Yeah, pretty fair isn't it? Theres not even a password for the Jungle level! .
This game, has incredible it sounds, was good to me, but it was so hard that i lost interest. The gameplay is pretty bad and the only thing that saves this is the graphics.
