Recommendations In Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction: part one

I joined fanfiction.net back in February after reading some of the stories posted there. Some were so good - they challenged me - and some were so bad - I thought "I can do better! As a result, my desire to write was re-ignited. So far, I've posted six chapters of a "slice of life" story called "And All Manner of Things Shall Be Well" (the plot bunny of this story is currently trying to hop down the murder mystery trail on me- BAD bunny!); a oneshot called "That Darned Brat!", and a 4 chapter angsty piece called "The End Is The Beginning". My pen name is Miss Woodford, and my profile can be found at www.fanfiction.net/u/989319/ Now, I'm doing this so you don't have to. I went to the very first page of stories posted, read most of 'em, and now I'm posting the best of what I found - IMHO - these all were on just one page! Look carefully, and the talent is noticeable! Note about ratings: K, and K+ are suitable for children; T for teens of course; I will warn where there is bad language and/or sexual situations. I'm not interested in yayoi or yuri(stories with homoerotic themes), and especially not Elricest! So I'm not listing any here. If stories like that float your boat, and you have a few hours to kill, point your browser over to this site and take a gander. Angst isn't really my cup of tea either, but I'll be including the better-written ones (IMHO). I may be posting stories with sexual themes where I feel the subject is intelligently handled; I will warn when this subject comes up. If you are a member of the site, please feel free to post reviews of the stories, let the authors know you appreciate them! To find these stories, simply preface the code with www.fanfiction.net. Happy reading! FULLMETAL JOURNAL: The life of a military private, by Wesker888. Rated: T. Rated: K+ He doesn't know how it's possible, but Alphonse Elric dreams. /s/1678542/1/ HE WHO SEARCHES FOR HIMSELF by Yuuki Hikari. Rated: M Already up to 22 chapters, this epic sprawling tale takes up where episode 51 left off. Think of it as the missing 3rd through 5th seasons of FMA. I've been raving about this story on the FMA forum, and with good reason: it's EXCELLENT! Each chapter is between 8,000 and 10,000 words long, so give yourself a few weeks to read it all. If you are like me, you won't be able to wait even a day before reading the next chapter! /s/2092968/1/ more later.......

YIPPEE!! More Miyazaki!

I was watching "Naruto" on Cartoon Network last night and a little blurb aired for "A month of Miyazaki". This month, Cartoon Network will be airing four of his best films. This is anime of the HIGHEST quaility, kiddies, don't miss it!

Miyazaki's movies to be on TCM in '06

I found out about this on a yahoogroup, Animeontv. Every Thursday in January, TCM will be showing 2 Hayao Miyazaki movies! Some of these movies have never been seen in Ameria before. I had to search the schedule and I came up with these results (all times eastern): PRINCESS MONONOKE: 1/05/06 3:45 AM and 10:15 PM SPIRITED AWAY: 1/05 1:00 AM and 8:00 PM NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF WIND: 1/12 12:15 AM and 8:00 PM CASTLE IN THE SKY: 1/12 2:15 AM and 10:00 PM MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO: 1/19 1:15 AM and 8:00 PM PORCO ROSSO: 1/19 2:45 AM and 9:30 PM The website URL is: http://www.turnerclassicmovies.com

Have you heard of this anime?

Besides anime, I also love horse racing. And in the pages of "The Anime Encyclopedia", I found an entry for Green Makibao, aka Midori no Makibao aka Young Makibao, the Amazing Race Horse. I haven't found out much about it, mostly because it hasn't been released on video or DVD in America yet. I did find brief reviews on a couple of sites, and another which offered "pencil boards" (what are those?) for sale. What I would like to know is: will it be released in the USA, or shown on Adult Swim (the humor is said to be "a bit crude") in the next year? Thank you.

Anime for everyone!

Hello everyone, I just joined - oh, five minutes ago. Despite the public perception of anime as "cartoons" and "just for kids"; I know better. There is anime out there which is geared towards adults - yet is NOT hentai - it's just got concepts which will go over the heads of most kids, or might be too frightening for kids (examples: Fooly Cooly, Kakurenbe, some episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist). So, I watch Adult Swim, look at episode guides here, check anime news network for the lastest news, and I've joined a few other anime forums, like Yellow Menace. Once I get accustomed to his site, I may be writing some reviews of anime I particularly like.
