I Did It !! I Gave Up GH for OLTL !!
by *TVNerd95 on Comments
Well it has been two weeks now that I took GH off my DVR and replaced it with OLTL and we (my DVR and I) couldn't be happier.
There is less FF and I have a new love for this couple called Rex and Gigi. Yes I FF through Todd and Marcie but nobody is perfect. At least it takes me a few hours to watch a whole week worths of OLTL versus 20 minutes for five episodes of GH.
I just had to share my newfound joy and how I plan to spend my summer since I don't go back to grad school until the fall.
Literary Detectives who Should Come to the Little/Big Screen - Do you have any?
by *TVNerd95 on Comments
I love the Jesse Stone movies based on the books by Robert Parker. Alot has to do with the amazing portrayal by Tom Selleck.
I began thinking about all the other murder mystery type books that I read and thought there are some really sexy detectives in those books who would be great on the little/big screen
1). Detective Lucas Davenport -- I know Eric LaSalle played him in one version of a TV movie but I think it needs to be redone with someone because the Prey books are excellent and Davenport is one sexy detective.
2). Detective Andrew Ryan -- who wouldn't want a Canadian Mountie on their side. 6'2" with ice blue eyes and speaks Canadian French. Yeah baby.
3). Detective Mike Chapman -- he is always looking out for the victim with his dark hair and lanky build. Plus I love the way he calls the lead character Alexandra Cooper "Blondie".
I was wondering if you had any you would like to see on the little/big screen.
Grad School -- When Will It End?
by *TVNerd95 on Comments
Just wanted to let everyone know how much grad school sucks. I apologize for not keeping up with my GH posts but I am finishing up my grad school capstone project and its kicking my ass.
Not to mention there isn't anything all that great about GH right now to keep me interested. Will talk to you guys later. Bye
Giving Up on General Hospital and Other GH Rants????
by *TVNerd95 on Comments
The last time I gave up on GH is when Kimberly McCullough left and was sacrificed for the love of Carly and that lasted up until she returned in October 2005.This show is turning into a worthless piece of dog poo. I don't know where to start my rant so I guess I will start with the one that is closest to my heart and that is Robin's pregnancy s/l
I can't believe the writers have the gall to turn my girl into a hyprocrite by having her keep the secret of her own's childs paternity. Part of the reason she was adamant about wanting Jason to come clean about Michael was the fact that she was kept from Robert for so long. The girlreally thinks children should be with their families. Jason understood this -- hell he tore into Robert about it when he came back. So why would she keep the truth from Patrick. Also, please why would she go to Elizabeth for advice. Elizabeth? The woman who has lied about both her childrens parentage. Okay writers I'll buy it and the ocean front property in Arizona.
The writers totally suck and also having the broken condom -- followed by Patrick then sleeping with Leyla and not telling her about his exposure because he has only been tested once. Thank you making me dislike him even more. Over and Over again the show has stated people have to be tested again in 6 months folowing the inital testing. Bastard writers. Also, we all know I am not a Scrubs fan, I loved Robin and Stone and I love love JnR. I was actually rooting for a Rocky baby that Robert/Luke could fight over. I would have been okay with a Scrubs baby if the story would have been a positive one about a loving couple (one of which happens to be HIV+) deciding to explore the possibilities of having a healthy and happy baby. Bastard writers. This whole story is turning into a huge mess about Patrick not about Robin -- this should be about Robin. Kimberly deserves this story, she has won two Emmys and could knock this out of the ballpark if written right. Okay now onto my least favortie subject -- Carly.
I am feeling really sorry for Laura Wright recently because GH seems to be trying really hard to make Carly to most hated character on the show. And I am really wondering if they are doing this in preparation for Sarah Brown's return -- to make her character more likable. If they are, it really sucks. Because even though I absolutely abhor the character of Carly, I have grown to respect Laura's protrayal of the character and I love her and Ingo's chemistry.
And thanks for ruining Skate for me by turning Sonny back in the egostical ass he once was. And please get Lulu away from Johnny because I actually like him and she seems to ruin every guy character she is around. Rant over -- Back to normal now.
Netflix Instant Viewing -- A Way to Survive the Writers Strike
by *TVNerd95 on Comments
TheOldies -- You can watch or relive your memories of Buck Rogers, Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys, Saved By the Bell, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Quantam Leap and various others.
The Newbies -- You can also catch up on those favorite first season greats like Dexter, Friday Night Lights and Heroes.
I am using this time to watch some shows I never got a chance to watch like the Office, Dead Like Me, Sliders and others. If you have Netflix and a decent internet connection, this is a must have to get through the writers strike.

I admit it -- I like Skate -- I found their little messages back and forth to each other romantic. I can't believe I am saying something positive about Sonny. I also can't believe what I am going to say next.
I am not liking Felicia -- maybe I'm not suppose to. I am loving see Maxie snark Felicia around like she is trash. I love seeing more of Mac but I am not getting into Kristina Wagner's performance. UGHHHHH -- I hope it picks up for me.
Damien Spinelli, PI -- I could actually get into that. Maybe he will figure out a way to get Blackie Parrish out of prison finally. Sorry I digress to the days John Stamos was on the show. God him and Georgie investigating things together would have been so cute -- brining back the days of Felicia and Mac. Okay I will put the "Screeching Lulu" stuff here because it ticked me off that she called Spinelli from her phone instead of Logan/Johnny because she knows he would drop anything for her. I hate the way she treats him.
Okay -- Can Lucky be any sexier or more honorable? I love this man. This is why I would kill for a Spencer/Scorpio child versus a Scrubs baby. So much potential of getting into all kinds of trouble. I like Lucky and Sam but they really need to redeem Sam some before I buy into this couple.
I know I should feel sorry Carly after finding out Jason kept Jake from her but I don't -- it really is none of her business. Jason would tell her when he felt the time was right. But I will tell you one -- Liz is one self-righteous little thing isn't she. I have to get back on YouTube because I was actually agreeing with Carly that Jason probably wouldn't have hid Jake unless Elizabeth suggested it. I mean she is justifying lying about the paternity of her child for the second time and we are suppose to buy this. I know she is one of the heroines but I am really tired her crap.
Okay time to say goodbye to Robin Christopher and her character Skye Quartermaine. I loved her scene with Edward and it is the highlight of my week. John Ingle isso amazing of an actor.

Welcome to the New Year of General Hospital and to "nothing ever changes." A week of nothing happening. I sit here hitting the FF button waiting for something to catch my eye. I am kind of enjoying the humor of Diane/Alexis but only mildly.
I love the chemistry between Jerry and Alexis but I can't root for them because of Jerry's past. GH has not done enough to redeem him for me. I am also not real impressed with Ric and Skye. I think I am just a Rexis fan (remember the Christmas tree) that won't get over what the writers have done to that character.
I am trying to continue and be positive and will have a hightlight each week.Kirsten Storms's Maxiebreakdown in Kelly's was amazing. She is such a great actress which is nice to not have her involved in the mob storyline. I also love how they keep pulling on history by having Lucky being there for her.

Okay I have nothing to say about this week because nothing happened. Sonny/Kate -- boring. Carly/Jax - boring. Jerry/Alexis - boring. Jason/Elizabeth - boring. Sam/Lucky - boring.
I do have one highlight of the week -- The conversation between Jax and Robin. These two use to be really close friends and it was nice to see the show acknowledge their friendship.

Wow even Spinelli made me cry this week. I can't believe GH did it. They really killed off Georgie. This show disappointments mewith this storyline but the actors did not disappoint me at all.
Kirsten Storms is amazing little actress and she made you feel all of Maxie's pain and heartache this week dealing with ther sister's death. Give this girl an Emmy. Her eulogy was touching and horrifying at the same time because she gave credit to the ones closest to Georgie but made her mother pay for being gone for so long.
Scott Clifton was a welcome sight and he proved what a great actor he is. He made you feel all of Dillon's heartbreak over Georgie's death. He scene in Kelly's playing the song on the jukebox and just breaking down was so touching and heartfelt. He really brought and I think he did that to show Lindze's character that she so richly deserved.
Kimberly McCullough played it very understated and was the glue trying to hold Maxie and Mac together throughout all of this. But when she wants to make me cry -- she knows how to. Her scene with John J. York in the church after the funeral talking about how Mac was the one wonderful constant in those three girls lives just made me bawl like a baby.
And finally John J. York, why isn't this man in a frontburner storyline. He went from shocked to angry to absolute despair beautifully. You really felt like he was a father losing his daughter. So many of his scenes touched me but the final scene with him looking at the tree crying and then Georgie's montage played. OMG -- it completely broke my heart.
I pretty much ignored the rest of the show because nothing really mattered. I was upset on Friday's show they kept interrupting the funeral with CarJax scenes but at least there weren't any mobster scenes.
Goodbye to Lindze Letherman, Good Luck -- and I hope theagency that Robert/Anna/Felicia/Frisco work for has the real Georgie hidden away somewhere for protection because I don't want to believe that wasGeorgie's body.
