Working on Kurau: Phantom Memory

The last few weeks I've been watching Kurau: Phantom Memory. I am showing more restraint than normal. Since I am watching it with my Mom, Dad, Brother, Son, and sometimes my Daughter and Nephew. Getting everyone together is difficult especially since my nephew is 330 miles away and my son now attends a university.

The main character in the English dub is Monica Rial. I have enjoyed her performance in a multitude of animes. Jessica Boone does well in this show as well. Jason Douglas has great balance as a tough guy with a soft side in this show as well.

Finally completed Haibane Renmei for the 2nd time

I finally sat down and re-watched Haibane Renmei. This time I watched it with my son, daughter and nephew. It is different than any of the other anime that I own. Given that the three of them also watch a lot of anime, I thought that it would be good to give them something different to look at. I noticed that it has one of the highest user ratings on anime news network.

Until next time.

Two new series on DVD

Well, I did manage to get 2 new series on DVD, but I haven't started watching them yet. Eureka, season 1 and Heroes, season 1. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Still on Anime, Mostly

Recently finished "Requiem from the Darkness" and "Daphne in the Brilliant Blue". Currently watching "Soul Taker" and "Divergence Eve: Misaki Chronicles". In live action I am guiltily watching "Weeds: Season 2'. I like some of the comedy aspects, like Conrad's attempts at getting financing. I wasn't able to get the 10th anniversary Neon Genesis Evangelion. I didn't see it at Best Buy and I didn't get it ordered from ADV in a timely fashion.

Gilgamesh & 24 & Pretear

Well, I must say that I am looking forward to the next season of "24". I also purchased the last 3 volumes of Gilgamesh, which gets me all seven volumes now. I watched interviews on the "Pretear" disk volumes 1 and 4 and they were entertaining. It continues.

Gravion and Gravion Zwei are the deal

I have to admit I've already dropped the ball on Vanished, Standoff, and Justice. Last week my son's Trigonometry and Calculus modified my viewing. I got through Gravion and Gravion Zwei on DVD. It was cool to see the depth increase greatly a the series went along. I also have the DVD set for Madlax and 4 of the 7 volumes of Gilgamesh. But the real question is what am I going to do when the 10th Anniversary collection of Neon Genesis Evangelion (aka EVA) comes out.

Taxes are done and 24 is still Cool!

The accomplishment of the week is that taxes are behind us - and they didn't interfere with 24. It almost didn't work out that well. Turbo Tax didn't want to install on the laptop that I used last year. Fortunately it installed on the one that I used the year before. I'm looking forward to next week's 24. As usual many things are building up for lots of action.

It's Still 24

I am still dogmatic about 24. It is the one TV show that I can't miss. When I did miss an episode I had to borrow a friend's recording. That was the first show missed in at least 3 years. In terms of DVDs, I watched Dark Water The Unrated Widescreen Version. It is unfortunate that it seems that you have to choose between Unrated Widescreen or Rated Full Screen. I sometimes buy both theatrical and unrated versions of a movie. Since I compared the Full Screen and Widescreen versions of The Fellowship of the Ring and counted 7 rather than 9 dark riders my selection of widescreen versions was confirmed. By the way the original Dark Water distributed by ADV is good as well. There are enough differences between the two to warrant watching both the USA and Japanese versions. The dubbing by ADV is excellent as usual.

24 is still the King

24 is once again awesome!! Each year they impress. No matter what the competition has on the airwaves, 24 is still the one. I've been watching mostly DVDs lately, but now I have a reason to watch some TV.

No Lost, No Invasion - Eden's Bowy.

I totally missed them again. I don't know if they were on or not. I missed them both Wednesday night. I was watching the 3rd disk of Eden's Bowy with my son and daughter. To top it off after getting back home Thanksgiving Day, we watched the 4th disk of the Eden's Bowy. Although it isn't ADV's most recent animation offering, the story line and character development is great. Friday was the War of the Worlds movie and Dralion. Friday night was the original War of the Worlds movie and the first 20 minutes of the radio broadcast. An interesting piece of entertainment history to say the least. My son stayed up watching the latter War of the Worlds with me, and was impressed with the effects considering the movie is 52 years old!!
