Good news? GREAT NEWS!

OMG, ever since that anonymous source said that the strike was over (still hate the guy from the bottom of my soul  ) have I not been as excited as I am today... Why? READ!

DGA-AMPTP

The DGA's reached a tentative deal with the AMPTP, following six days of negotiations.

The pact was announced early Thursday afternoon amid widespread expectations that the helmers would reach an agreement with the majors.

The DGA deal amps up the pressure from all sides on the leadership of the Writers Guild of America, which has been out on strike since Nov. 5. Its last negotiations with the AMPTP collapsed on Dec. 7 with the congloms demanding that the guild drop six of its proposals.

The town's focus will immediately shift to whether the terms of the DGA deal will be acceptable to the WGA. A group of moderate writers have been pushing in recent days for the leaders not to reject the DGA deal out of hand.

Optimists believe that the DGA deal will be enough of a breakthrough on new-media questions to pave the way for a WGA pact.

Can you believe it?! The DGA made a deal! After 6 friggin' days! And the WGA? It's been 11 weeks... Gooood  I just need the WGA and the AMPTP back in a room... Hopefully, the AMPTP people are now optimistic, joyous and all that so they will want to start negotiating again... Seems like the WGA people are now just making a fool of themselves... And they're gonna come out of this losing... I just hope tha they strike a dal before the Oscars! :D

_________________________

Anyway, school's started, but I don't really wanna talk about that cause I'm still in shock and I'm so excited  I actually believe I'll have a heart attack when the strike ends... So, when they start negotiating again, I'll call 911 and have them park a vehicle in front of the building

Sooo, Idol started :D I'm loving it... I actually liked Philly better than Dallas... (Was it Dallas or Austin... ?? ) That guy with the low voice - my God I couldn't stop laughing  And the other guy that sang to Paula  If I were a bathtub, I would caulk her?!?

So many lol emoticons, I'm loving it :D

Also, I have a new obssession... It's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... I don't want to call it a guilty pleasure, because I'm so not ashamed of watching it :D It's really intense, great action scenes, great plot... It's just awesome :D

So that's about it... Now I'm gonna take a deep breath, and look at my "calendar" aka my printed schedule of midseason premiere dates and think: Okay, maybe we won't be watching Hell's Kitchen in April... Or maybe CBS will pull BB 2 days before it's supposed to start  So, hopefully I'm the one that brought you the good news and well, hopefully made your day :D

Sarcastic or Serious?

The title kinda sounds weird, but it has to do with me being happy. "Happy" and really happy :D

The sarcastic one has to do with me going back to school, yipee, really missed it. Not. :x I had a lot of fun these past few weeks, but that still wasn't nearly enough for me... I have no idea how I'm going to get up @ 7 on Monday... I woke up at 4 today :D PM

school bell

Aaanyway, the good happy? :D Well, of course, it has to do with the shows returning/premiereing this week... Idol's coming back, Notes from the underbelly, Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal etc. Still, this whole strike thing has now gone from "Oh, I don't care, I've had enough" to "Oh my God, are we losing all of our summer shows and scriptedpilots for the upcoming fall?!" Yeah, what started it was this article I read on Variety.com and it kinda scared me to death:

"Nobody's saying it explicitly, but the vibe in the biz is that the deadline the AMPTP member companies face for breaking the stalemate with the WGA and getting the town back to work is dictated by the Feb. 24 Academy Awards. If the industry's biggest and boldest celebration of itself is torpedoed by labor strife, as Sunday's Golden Globe Awards already has been, many predict that the turmoil in showbiz could extend well into the second half of the year. "

Like, huh? So, if the strike doesn't end until the Oscars, there's no way it ends before summer?! Nice... I heard they lost a lot of money, but if the Oscars are "cancelled", they'll lose like 100 times more than that... So I'm kinda scared, frustrated and sad at the same time... Dunno what to think... You know, does it mean they're getting back to the neg. table? I mean, the DGA started their negotiations today, so I'm thinking if they strike a deal now, everyone's gonna be like: The WGA is so dumb, screwing around for 2 and a half months, and the DGA strikes a deal in 2 days... Hopefully that'll make something going...

But again, wishes.....

Okay, this week's television was great, especially Thursday night - it really didn't feel like there was a strike going on, cause there were new episodes of Grey's, 30 rock, CSI, Betty etc. so it felt good... Grey's was great, finally an eppie I really enjoyed this season, 30 rock, as usual, awesome :D I also started watching SVU, and I caught up on Gossip Girl and watched all 13 episodes... I also watched Dance War - hated it... They really don't have talented people, you don't even know what's gonna happen next week, the auditions were boring, I almost fell asleep... But, I really liked the Gladiators

So, this has been my last week of freedom, I think I've had like 26 of those since I started going to school  I always say that :D But it's true... :( I don't wanna go back... Sux... :(

The Hatred Returns

I actually wanted to wait until I watched all the shows I wanted before I wrote a new post, but I just had to write something... Anything!

Today was the first day of the year I was really frustrated because one of my favorite shows is going to be off the air for probably 8 months, maybe even longer... Yeah, it's Desperate Housewives... That tornado-aftermath episode, season finale, last pre-strike episode, call it whatever you want was fantastic! DH, I believe, hasn't been this good since season one... I thought they were going to drag that "Are Tom and the kids alive" thing throuhgout the whole episode, but they didn't, and it was great, because we were able to witness a lot of memorable scenes...

DH

Can you believe it?? 8 months... And that's if the strike ends in time for the NEXT season to be intact... We're at that stage now :( And it friggin' sucks!

I trully respect the writers, but they went into this strike without a plan, without a goal... And that's why it's taking so long for it to be over... The whole Golden Globes drama is iritating me... If NBC airs it, no actors will attend... If there is no telecast, the actors will attend... So, what's it gonna be?! I mean, it's a ceremony that celebrates writers and their work, for the love of God... What's the big f-ing deal?

Okay. Now I feel better. Friday night lights. Amazing. I don't remember when was the last time I enjoyed an FNL episode as much as I did last week's. It was funny, it was dramatic and it proved once again how trully amazing this show is...

This weekend was kinda slow for me... I caught up on Gossip Girl (sorta), but I'm just not into the show as much as a lot of people are... I'm waiting for OTH to return  So, one week left. And then it's back to that hell hole... But the first few weeks are gonna be awesome - a lot of TV, no studying to do :D Still, I think I should start mentally preparing for it... It's gonna be tough... I mean, if the first semester was this exhausting and tough, I can't even begin to imagine what they'll do to us in the second one

I guess that's all... The only reason why I wrote a post was my frustration with the strike, caused by a phenomenal episode of DH  I wanna start screaming, because I won't see any of these amazing shows in days, weeks, months... Ugh  And even though I keep saying: Oh, there's always Idol, Survivor, OTH and Big Brother - it's not enough, it's not summer, it's midseason... We're supposed to be watching the 2-day, 4-hour premiere of 24, welcome back our favorite shows when they return from hiatus and welcome back the new shows that made it and enjoy the back nine episodes (Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Samantha Who? :( )... Sigh...

Movie Talk

Okay, so last night I was at level 13, 92%. This morning, all of a sudden, I'm Level 14 (Autobot), 26%! I don't know what happened overnight, but it's probably because I rewrote the About me section, added a photo (sorta :D ) and wrote two reviews... But still, 34 percent??

___________________________________

So, like I said, this time around I'll be talking about the movies I saw and the books I read... Well, mostly about movies... And before I start, I'll say one more thing: I loved all of them  Mostly because I chose them carefully, I went to IMDb.com, read the reviews, saw the rating and decided... And I didn't love all of them because that's what everyone's saying and I can't have a normal opinion - I really, really liked 'em :D

I mentioned this one earlier, but I didn't say a lot - Superbad. That was the first movie I saw since, like summer :D And that was a month ago  I was so into watching TV shows that I forgot movies existed... But that was actually a great thing, cause now I have a lot of catching up to do :D Okay, Superbad. It was awesome. And so dirty, and so nasty, and so so funny  Old people and mostly conservative and old fashioned people will hate it, and probably complain about it, but that's just the way people make comedies these days...

Superbad

When's the last time we had a really funny Robin Williams family movie, like Mrs. Doubtfire? It's all about cursing, and sex and drugs and alcohol - but I don't mind it, I loved Superbad just as much as I loved Knocked up... And what's really great about it, they actually made a two.hour movie out of nothing, I mean what's the plot? Three guys trying to get to a party? Huh??

Okay, next up - Stardust. I actually read the book first (I'll talk about it later :D ) and then saw the movie. Of course, the book is much better, but still, the movie was great, one of the best based-on-a-book movies :D The acting was great, the chemistry was there, Robert de Niro was brilliant and hilarious, and visually, the movie was wonderful... It's like a movie version of Pushing Daisies :D (still, PD is better :D )... However, they didn't put a few key characters in the movie and the storyline is a bit different, but it's still great...

Stardust

The next movie I saw was The Heartbreak Kid... This is actually my least favorite movie from the ones I saw this past month but it's still a nice comedy... I loved the storyline, and the ending was hilarious, with Eva Longoria showing up...

Then, one of, if not the best movie I saw in 2007 - No country for old men. I mentioned it in my last post, and also put a picture of Javier Bardem. I still can't get him out of my head - that man gives me the creeps  He was absolutely perfect as the bad guy, and it's really funny because it's not supposed to be a horror movie, yet I've never been so scared and excited watching a movie

NCFOM

So, the movie is about this guy from Texas (at first he looks like some stupid farmer or whatever, but it turns out he's quite smart) who stumbles upon this money from a drug deal gone really bad... So he takes it, and unleashes a storm of bad events... Not only are the bad guys chasing him but the town sheriff as well, played by Tommy Lee Jones, who was also perfectly cast... The movie has so little dialogue, and the mixture of visual effects (if you want to call them effects) and sounds is just mindblowing... I still can't stop thinking about the movie... The only thing kinda dissapointing was the ending... It ended like The Sopranos

Next, we have a comedy :D Enchanted, of course  I'm kinda too old for the movie, but it was still delightful and funny... It does a pretty good job mixing adult humor and kid humor... It's not like there's anything dirty in it, but for example, there's this scene where the little girl tells the soon-to-be princess: "You don't want to put to much makeup on. -Why? -You know why, because boys are only after one thing. -What's that? - I don't know, no one will tell me." I loved that :D The songs are catchy, the acting is great - Amy Adams was so convincing as Giselle, I mean, I was amazed... You know, her cartoonish faces and body language... Not in a bad way, but it just felt like you took a cartoon princess and put her on the streets of New York, just like it happens in the movie... :D

Enchanted

After a Disney comedy, I went back to watching westerns... This time it was 3:10 to Yuma... The movie is about a well-known criminal who was captured and is being taken to this train station (and the train is supposed to take him to prison), but the station is far away and the criminal's followers and out there searching for revenge and trying to get their leader back... The first 15-20 minutes actually bored me to death, but I said, okay, I'm not going to stop watching just because the beginning is boring... And it payed off... The movie really becomes great towards the middle, and there's a lot of shooting, and the scene at the end where Christian Bale is trying to get the prisoner (Russell Crowe) on the train but the prisoner's men are shooting at him, was really, really well-made and exicting... The end was dissapointing, kinda predictable, but it didn't ruin the whole movie...

The last movie I saw was Once... I've been hearing for months now how Once is a wonderful movie, how great it is, but still, I was never really interested in it... But, I simply decided to give it a shot, and thank God, it payed off... It's such a simple movie, with such a simple story, a guy playing a guitar on the streets meets an immigrant who needs her vacuum-cleaner fixed, and it turns out the guy's father owns a vacuum cleaner shop where they fix them... It sounds corny, but it's so cute, and so different, I loved it...

Once

What was also great was that we never found out their names... In the end credits, it just says "guy" and "girl"... And after he fixes her vacuum cleaner, they get to knoe each other and decide to record an album, because she play the piano - and the music was great... Tha guy really knows how to sing and play, and they make a great duet (even though they did record the album as a band)... It was a short movie (80min) but it was really special, different, enjoyable and unforgettable... You could say it was like a modern musical that tells the innocent story of two people that fall in love... Nothing actually happened between them, but in the end... Well, I'm not saying anything :D

That's it... Next on my must-see list are Before the devil knows you're dead (I actually started watching it, so far so good :D ), Good luck Chuck, Eastern promises, 30 days of night, Wristcutters: A love story and Sweeney Todd :D

Books? Well, I only read two and a half  Like I said, I'm not a fast reader, and I don't read as much as I watch movies/TV shows... The first one I read was, like I mentioned earlier Stardust (Neil Gaiman)... I really, really enjoyed it, and even though it seems like a children's fantasy book, there is a hint of vulgarity and cursing... Neil Gaiman (on the picture) is a great writer, I'm actually reading American Gods right now... That's the "half" in two and a half books :D

Neil Gaiman

The second one is Mario Puzo's The Family... It actually took me like, two weeks to read it, but it was good... I haven't really read any history novels before, but I liked it a lot... Yes, it was kinda boring sometimes, and maybe it was a little too long, but it was a nice read...

So, that's it... TV shows are returning next week, finally, and January is at least going to look somewhat like the fall... Not even close, but at least a little bit  I already looked thorugh the schedules, Tuesdays (The Biggest Loser, One Tree Hill, Idol, Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal, SVU), Wednesdays (Power of 10, Cashmere Mafia, Idol, Criminal Minds) and in Febraury Thursdays (Survivor, Idol (sometimes), Eli Stone, Lost, Lipstick Jungle) are going to be the best days... Unfortunately, Mondays, my favorite day this fall, is going to be kinda weak... But, the awards season is here: People's choice awards, Critics' choice awards, The Golden Globes - they're here :D Really excited! :D So, see ya soon! :)

Wishes and Random Thoughts

So, I'm back to writing normal posts :D About the last post: I was really looking forward to having this long, fancy post full of pics and everything, but turns out - the post is too long (maximum number of characters allowed
kinda screwed me over  ) I wanted to write something about what made the headlines this past year, and add some photos of some of the shows included, but it was impossible... Yeah, I could've split it into two posts, but I just didn't wanna do that :D

So, why am I here, writing again? Well... I would like to post my wishes for this year, mostly about television and movies... It's sad, I know  I've got some other wishes, but they're not really that important :D So, should I ask Santa to make my wishes come true or...? Nevermind, here we go...

1. I want to wake up one day and see the headlines all over the Internet: THE STRIKE IS OVER :D

1,5. If that's not possible for another few months, then I want those few months to be great (read: Lots of great shows...) :D

2. I want to see Friday Night Lights, Notes from the Underbelly, Pushing Daisies, Chuck and 30 Rock next fall a.k.a. I want 'em renewed for a second/third season! :D

FNL

3. I want to see the second season of Damages this summer :)

4. I want lots of great shows next fall (I'm being optimistic here, in my world the strike ends just in time for the fall season to be intact  )

5. I want a summer full of dancing, a.k.a. a great season of So you think you can dance and lots of great new (and old) summer shows...

SYTYCD

6. I want great movies this year, and not just the big fancy blockbusters, but something really good :)

7. I really really want Heroes to go back to being the show we all fell in love with next fall :D

8. I want to see Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton nominated for an Emmy next season (just nominated cause the next Emmys don't air until '09 :D )...

9. I want to see a Veronica Mars / Gilmore Girls TV Movie :D:oops:

10. I want the TV world to be shocked by an announcement from the SciFi channel: Galactica will be back for a fifth season

11. I really hope The CW will finally get some really great shows next fall and renew Aliens in America, that little gem nobody's watching :(

12. I want Pushing Daisies, Damages and Chuck to win all the awards they've been nominated for :D

Chuck

13. I want Comedy Central to renew Drawn Together, cause that show rules :D

14. I want Rules of engagement canceled!

15. I want my favorite to win on Idol

16. I want to see shows like Entourage, Weeds and Rescue Me go back to being great shows like they used to be :D

RM

17. I want TV Guide talk to remain awesome and hilarious (it's a weekly podcast from TVGuide.com, it's awesome, check it out :D )

And finally:

18. I want reality to die! At least the new stuff   Leave Idol, SYTYCD, Survivor, TAR and Beauty and the geek on

So that's it :D That's a lot of wishes, I know  But what I really, really want is the strike to end and a great fall season, especially since this one was kinda mediocre... Yes, there have been lots of great shows, but they're not some huge hits, which makes me sad...

So, what's coming soon? I'm super excited because my gulity pleasures are returning, one by one  The Biggest Loser, Power of 10, One Tree Hill, American Idol etc., but also some greaaat stuff: Lost, Jericho, New Christine and some new stuff (Yay :D ) - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Eli Stone (can't wait!! :D ), Welcome to the Captain, Breaking Bad, Cashmere Mafia etc.

AI

Also, the strike made me turn to movies and books - I've been watching movies and reading a lot these last few weeks, so next time I write, I'll be writing about the movies I saw (I loved every single one of them  I choose my movies carefully :D ) and the books I read (Just a few of 'em - not a fast reader :D )... A little sneak peek  The movies include: No country for old men and Enchanted and the books include Mario Puzo's The Family :D *Now everyone starts saying Woooow in shock*

NCFOM

And yes - IT STARTED SNOWING! AGAIN! ON NEW YEAR'S EVE! Can you believe it?! In one year - we have snow on Christmas AND New Year's Eve! And it still hasn't stopped :D There's so much snow, and I love it :D

snow

So that's about it - I have this week and next week to relax and sleep, then it's back to school :( But I'm in the same position like this fall: School starts, TV shows start  The Golden Globes air on "The Eve of the Second Semester" And then Prison break and Idol start and it's going to be wild :D And please, check out my Look back at the year 2007 - it's just below, and please leave a comment  See ya soon :D

Looking back: The Year 2007

Heey, I'm back :D Hope you enjoyed your Christmas :D Now, here's a quick (okay, not really quick  ) look back at the year 2007 :D Also, I wanted to write about what made the headlines in '07 and put some photos in the message, but there wasn't enough space

First, I'll start off by mentioning shows I have enjoyed watching and have anxiously been waiting for new episodes week after week...

_________________________________________________________

THUMBS UP FOR:

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC) - The sophomore slump was inevitable for this gem, because the show-runners wanted to make the show even more dramatic and bring in more viewers. Still, this show has proven to be one of the best dramas on television at this moment, and the fact that it still hasn't, and by the looks of it never will be, recognised and given an Emmy or a Golden Globe really makes me angry. Hopefully, the show will be given a green light for a third season.

30 ROCK (NBC) - It's one of those shows people like to call: Best show you're not watching. If the Emmy for best comedy hasn't already convinced you, I don't know what will... The most hilarious show out there right now, I dare say it's even funnier than The Office and Scrubs. And Samantha Who. And Two and a half men. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are exceptional, and you just have to experience what real comedy is by watching 30 Rock. :D

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX) - I remember those days. It was so hot outside, there was no school, and I was bored to death. And then came SYTYCD - the best reality-competition show EVER. I absolutely hated dance until I watched a few episodes od SYTYCD... And the talent on that show, my God, Dancing with the stars contestants and mentors (do they call them mentors? XD ) should be ashamed of themselves and look at the talent on this show, and try to learn their routines in 8 hours, just like they have to... Season four probably starts right after Idol ends, so I'm super excited! :D

VERONICA MARS (UPN/The CW) - How do I begin? :( 18 months ago (OMG, it's been 18 months:shock: ) I started watching this show I knew nothing about, because I heard The CW was bringing it back, even though NOBODY thought that would happen... And I was amazed - How can people not watch this show?! To see shows like One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, Beverly Hills, The OC etc. have higher ratings and longer runs than this show breaks my heart... Season 3 wasn't really as good as the first two, but it was still amazing... And I hate The CW for canceling it...

CHUCK (NBC) - Oh the comedy :D This summer I was actually more excited about Bionic Woman and Journeyman, the two shows that have failed completely  But when I saw the pilot for this show, I was just in shock - Is it really possible that I wasn't excited about it?? Great cast, great plot, great comedy, great chemistry... There's absolutely nothing wrong with it... And I'm so happy my favorite shows on NBC are still alive and kicking :D

DAMAGES (FX) - I was on vacation when the show started which was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me  I had no interest in the show, but when I heard people saying: Wow, it awesome! How intense! What a brilliant show, great cast!, I thought to myself: When I get home, I have to watch this... And I did... And I actually didn't love it at first, cause it was a little too complicated for my taste  But a few weeks after, I fell in love with the show... It just keeps you guessing, and the worst part is - you never get it right  Great cast, hopefully Glenn Close and Rose Byrne get their (well-deserved) Golden Globes, while I'm waiting for season two! :D

PUSHING DAISIES (ABC) - People talked about it. A lot. People were sceptical. But it turned out to be everything we thought it would be - a colourful, beautiful, funny and astonishing show that takes your breath away... Again, like in Chuck - the chemistry between the characters is there, the humour is great, and sometimes naughty, which makes it even more adorable :D Every character brings something new and different to the table - you have the quirky, silly Olive Snook, the serious and sarcastic Emerson Codd, the beautiful and reasonable Chuck, and the pie-maker who fell in love Ned... I love this show so much, and I hate that it's already over... I'm actually saving the last episode for who knows when, but I just don't wanna watch it

SURVIVOR (CBS) - Oh, even after 15 seasons I absolutely love Survivor. :D I love the suspense before the tribal council, I love it when they fight  and I love the finales... Except this last one... I hated, hated, hated the China finale, because that idiot Todd won... And I kept praying, please vote him out, please vote him out, because the odds were always against him, and they wanted to do it, but they just didn't have the balls... But in February - Ozzy's back! Yau-Man's back! :D China's Amanda and James are back! :D Fans vs. favorites sounds like a great idea, so hopefully the season will live up to its hype :)

THE BIG BANG THEORY (CBS)- This show really surprised me in a good way. When I saw the trailer I laughed out loud, but I thought to myself - no way that they'll be able to keep the show THAT funny. But they did. :D Great cast, the geeks are great, and even though Katey Cuoco is sometimes the odd man out, she's still great... :D

LOST (ABC) - Oh who doesn't watch Lost?! The first part of the third season really sucked, but what's great about it is - that was in 2006! The '07 episodes of Lost were just brilliant, they were so shocking and revealing, and the finale - without a doubt the best one this May. Biiig thumbs up for the island show. :D

DEXTER (SHO) - I really liked season one. But it took me forever to watch it. I couldn't find some time to do it until this summer, so I didn't have to wait that much to see what happens next. But I wasn't that excited. Man was I wrong  After a kinda slow start this October, Dexter turned out to be fantastic, a real thrill ride that just keeps you guessing: How's he gonna get out of this one? And that little thing called sophomore slump? Didn't happen. :)

BOSTON LEGAL (ABC) - Man, every critic hates the show. They say: Oh, we're fed up with Denny Crane, Alan Shore and their ridiculous cases that just get more and more ridiculous every week. Well I'm not :D I love the show, and I know it's completely unrealistic, but I just don't care... The humor is just awesome, and the writing is great, especially when it comes to the scenes in the courtroom...

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (SciFi) - I have to say, there were a few episodes that bored me to death (read: the one about the little kids in awful conditions in the Battlestar mines or whatever that was  ), but still, this is a fantastic show, and a great example of how a true SciFi show should look like... After an awesome finale (We saw Earth! :D ), we'll be getting some answers in March, but unfortunately, for the last time :(

STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP (NBC) - Last season, NBC had a brilliant lineup that consisted of four (three) spectacular series: 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, (Heroes), and Studio 60. S60 was the only one that didn't get renewed... And it sucked... The show was great, but I guess for the American audience the writing was too complicated and the „show in a show" thing was confusing or something  Matthew Perry was awesome, a so was Sarah Paulson. :(

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

The Office - Love the show, great comedy - Dunder Mifflin rules :D

Desperate Housewives - Season four just keeps (kept :( ) getting better...

Samantha Who? - The best new half-hour comedy, great cast

American Idol - What's there to say? Finally, my favorite won this year XD

Beauty and the Geek - Such a fun and charming little reality show :D

Grey's Anatomy - Season four was a little better, but still not good enough to make it to the top of the list...

Drawn Together - My faaavorite cartoon... It's absolutely disgusting and perveted and sick...

Aliens in America - Another great show you're not watching... Tune in! Lot of episodes are still left!

Big Brother - I liked All-Stars better, but I still don't know how this show is so... so... I don't know

Notes from the Underbelly - Great, great show... Airs after Samantha, tune in! :D

Californication - Davi Duchovny kicked a$$ in this show, and it was hilarious :D

Gilmore Girls - RIP, you will be missed :(

South Park - Even after 12 seasons, this show is sooo funny... :D

The Amazing Race - Now this is the perfect reality... You can't spend money by voting, you can have a favorite, and you get to see places on Earth :D

House - The season started slow, but these past few episodes were great :D

Ugly Betty - A really, really fun show... Still hasn't lost its charm :D

_________________________________________________________

THUMBS DOWN FOR:

HEROES (NBC) - The biggest disappointment. The show was so predictable, the acting was bad, the writing even worse... Here's just one, okay two questions: When trying to get to the virus, why didn't Peter just walk through the door, instead of trying to break it? Why couldn't Hiro go back to the past and prevent the virus from being created in the first place??

PRISON BREAK (FOX) - I still watch the show regularly, but it stopped making sense a looong time ago... It's seriously getting ridiculous, and I don't know what the hell are they going to do to the show if it gets another season :/

24 (FOX) - The season started great, with the nuclear bomb going off in the middle of LA... But it ended with a kid being saved from a platform? Huh? I guess season 6 won't be forgotten that fast, because who knows for how long we'll have to wait for the next one, which looks at least a little promising...

BIG SHOTS (ABC) - I expected a fun, male version of Sex and the city... What I got was like a bad nightmare I wanna forget ASAP... This show was so ridiculously bad, and so not funny, it made me puke. Honestly. And it's a shame when you have Dylan McDermott and Michael Vartan as the stars of the show...

AMERICAN BAND (FOX) - Let's get something clear - I expected nothing, so the „Big disappointment" part doesn't come as a shock  The ratings say enough. The show was just bad, another Idol copycat with one British judge and one female crybaby bla bla bla...

KID NATION (CBS) - Ugh. Don't even get me started... It was just so fake, so boring it just made me wanna go out and shoot myself... And some of those kids were just so iritating... Hopefully, this sick little show will be canceled...

LAS VEGAS (NBC) - I loved the last season, but now that Caan left, it's horibble... The new chick is just stupid, she just walks around making a fool out of herself, and the new boss, Tom Selleck, is a one-dimensional character, and of course, he has this daaark past. Yawn.

DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS (FOX)/THE SINGING BEE (NBC) - It was fun the first few weeks... Then the same thing just went on and on week after week... I couldn't make myself watch any of these two shows even if someone paid me to.

SMALLVILLE (CW) - I trashed so many popular shows (24, Heroes, Prison break), so I don't know if anyone's gonna read my blog after this  But, Smallville is just not what it used to be, what doesn't come as a shock since the show is now in its seventh season... But still, that Supergirl has completely ruined the show and now everything revolves around her...

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (CBS) - Without a doubt the worst show on CBS on Monday nights... The cast is so dull, and the show is so unfunny... How I met your mother, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a half men, New Christine - all these show are light years ahead of these pathetic little show... Ugh...

VIVA LAUGHLIN (CBS) - Remember this? What's there to say, primetime television just isn't ready for a musical show... Even if it's a good one... The problem is, this really wasn's a good one

KYLE XY (ABC Family) - I know that if a show airs on ABC Family, it can't be really good, but there's just waaay to much buzz and fuss about Kyle XY... The show is so overrated, the casting is horrible, the writing is bad, and the story is just lame, IMO...

CAVEMEN (ABC) - The horror! I actually saw the first few episodes of the show, but then, I just couldn't torture myself anymore  I don't even know what to say about the show - it was just bad, that's all there is to it.

(NOT SO) HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Bionic Woman (NBC) - Yeah, it was bad.

John from Cincinnati (HBO) - HBO, don't ever make a mistake like this again.

Nashville (FOX) - Did anyone actually think this show might work?

America's got talent (NBC) - After a somewhat good first season, the show just became a big comedy... The live performance thing ala Idol just didn't work...

Carpoolers (ABC) - Better than Cavemen, but still baaad...

Tell me you love me (HBO) - So. Boring. Please. Kill. Me. Now. Seriously, has HBO lost its abilitly to pick good shows?

So, what's you opinion? Leave a comment! :D

Rockin' around the Christmas tree...

It's Christmas, yaaaay!

Merry Christmas everyone! :D :D :D

Snow

It's the best time of the year, everyone's happy, there's some much food, and cake, and presents, of course... And the best part is - I'm not really sure, but I think this is my first WHITE Christmas  It's not like I'm 6 or anything, but I've been wishing for snow on Christmas for years, and this year, my wish has come true :D I started falling this afternoon, and it was the most wonderful Christmas eve - me and my family in our warm home, and outside everything's covered in snow, the snow's falling slowly and there are Christmas lights everywhere:P :D It was great...

Right now, it's the middle of the night and it's not stopping so this Christmas is going to be perfect... Like the song says "It doesn't show signs of stopping..." :D

So, everyone enjoy your Christmas! I know I will :D

Free at last!

It hasn't sunk in yet. School's over!

It's been a tough few months, tougher than ever, so I'm super happy it's finally over and that I'm satisfied with my grades :D

Christmas is here, and even that hasn't hit me yet since these days we have school until, like, Christmas Eve  So my head was full of (useless) information from biology, physics, chemistry, latin etc. However, my Christmas miracle hasn't happened, and it probably won't - you know, the little thing we like to call the writers' strike  I've come to terms with the fact that Big Brother is going to be the big television event of the winter  , like I already said quite a few times XD I've actually been practising how to watch as least TV as possible  I try to watch only one show when I come home from school, then one in the afternoon and one before going to bed  So I actually saved quite a few shows, and when I add lots of episodes of CSI's, Criminal minds, NCIS, Ghost whisperer etc., the winter shouldn't be that boring...

The Biggest Loser ended this week... I really like the show, but those super fake, overhyped and just silly live finales are just dumb... Two hours was waaay too much, and those first weigh-ins took FOREVER... Other than that, I haven't really been watching a lot... Notes from the underbelly, of course, I love the show (still, I hate the fact that the ratings have been so awful :( ), Boston Legal and Nip/Tuck... I just saw the promo for the next Boston Legal, it looks like an awesome episode that might be a start of a new story arc... Oh yeah, I also watched a little thing called Survivor... Not even worth mentioning... When I ssaw that gay moron with his pathetic little hair and whiny little voice when he won, I just turned my TV off... Ugh... I'm not homphobic, but just making those faces and feeling like you need to tell the world how gay you are is just stupid... Oh well...

I also saw a movie last week... Superbad... My God, what and awesome movie in a super stupid way  I love Todd Apatow's movies (40-year-old virgin, Knocked up), but KU is still my fav... Still, this one had some great moments :D

So, I'm off to celebrate my freedom... I've got three weeks to eat and drink as much as I can  I'm also planning on going ice-skating (it's something I discovered this year, I luv it  ), going to the movies a few times and just going out... :D So, happy holidays, everyone :D

Santa

The Golden Globes - finally some good news :)

Sooo, the Golden Globe nominations were announced today, and I was really happy to see some of my favorite shows make it... Some didn't, which really made me angry (Friday night lights, Dexter, Desperate Housewives etc.), but the good part overshadows the bad part :D

So, here's what I think:

BEST TV DRAMA
Big Love
Damages
Grey's Anatomy
House
Mad Men
The Tudors

Damages should definitely win, I absolutely love the show... House is great, Grey's anatomy is great, but Damages is just a masterpiece...

BEST TV COMEDY OR MUSICAL
30 Rock
Californication
Entourage
Extras
Pushing Daisies

This one is EXTREMELY tough... I love Pushing Daisies and 30 rock, Californication is great, Entourage is hilarious... But, I had to go with Pushing Daisies because it's a new show and it needs all the promoting it can get... Plus, it's adorable and funny :D

BEST ACTRESS IN A TV DRAMA
Patricia Arquette, Medium
Glenn Close, Damages
Minnie Driver, The Riches
Edie Falco, The Sopranos
Sally Field, Brothers & Sisters
Holly Hunter, Saving Grace
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

Glenn Close, of course... I know I'm kinda mean, but I just looove that The Sopranos only got one nomination  I love Kyra Sedgwick, but Glenn Close is way better... And Sally Field got her Emmy... She doesn't need a Golden Globe as well

BEST ACTOR IN A TV DRAMA
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Hugh Laurie, House
Bill Paxton, Big Love
Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Jonathan Rhys Meyers, The Tudors

Hugh Laurie is brilliant, but Michael C. Hall is god. He is perfect in his role, I just love watching him and I'm so angry that the second season of Dexter is coming to an end this weekend... And I also hate that this is the show's only nomination!

BEST ACTOR IN A TV COMEDY
Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
Steve Carell, The Office
David Duchovny, Californication
Ricky Gervais, Extras
Lee Pace, Pushing Daisies

Okay, tough one. David Duchovny's sarcasm and immaturity is so fun to watch. We all know how hilarious Steve Carrell is in The Office... 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin is... (can't think of a word I haven't already used  ) ...he's fantastic  But Pushing Daisies is Pushing Daisies... I want that show to win in every single category they've been nominated...

BEST ACTRESS IN A TV COMEDY
Christina Applegate, Samantha Who?
America Ferrera, Ugly Betty
Tina Fey, 30 Rock
Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies
Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds

Without a doubt the toughest one... I watch all five shows, I love all five of the women  But, Pushing Daisies is my pick. Coming in second is Tina Fey (30 Rock's second season is magnificent), then sharing the third place (kinda) are America Ferrera and Christina Applegate, and last (but definitely not least) M.L. Parker...

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS / TV
Rose Byrne, Damages
Rachel Griffith, Brothers & Sisters
Katherine Heigl, Grey's Anatomy
Samantha Morton, Longford
Anna Paquin, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee
Jamie Pressly, My Name Is Earl

Damages, Damages, Damages :D Katherine Heigl has her Emmy, Jaime Pressly has her Emmy. Rachel Griffith, I dunno, she isn't really Emmy/GG material IMO... Rose Byrne is one talented actress... She was awesome in Sunshine, and she was even better in Damages...

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR / TV
Ted Danson, Damages
Kevin Dillon, Entourage
Jeremy Piven, Entourage
Andy Serkis, Longford
William Shatner, Boston Legal
Donald Sutherland, Dirty Sexy Money

Ted Danson's character (Arthur Frobisher) in Damages gave me the creeps... Just a strange, complex character... That's why I love the guy... And love the show... I'm a big fan of Boston Legal, but Shatner just sits around and says two sentences per episode, and of course, they're about sex... Jeremy Piven has his Emmy, and Sutherland? Huh? Sorry, but DSM isn't Emmy/GG material... And old Donald had (a farm  ) had better days... Sorry...

I didn't put the miniseries stuff, because I didn't watch any of them... So please, share your thoughts :)

The 5th stage of grief: Acceptance.

Yeah... My optimism has sunk to a zero... You probably know I'm talking about the writers' strike... They were negotiationg these last few days, but then they just stopped and started blaming each other... Bla bla, The WGA is making unreasonable terms, The AMPTP doesn't want to negotiate, they're a bunch of liars...

They're like kids... And it's really getting on my nerves... In the last few weeks, I woke up and saw great news such as: Inside source says a deal has already been made! The next day - Nuh-uh. False alarm... Next negotiations: For the first time, they're actually making progress! The next day: The progress they made? Practically nothing.

I'm tired of being optimistic and wishing for it to end... I'm not a pessimistic person, but I always say: Be pessimistic: That way, if something good actually happens, you'll be super psyched and happy about it, if it doesn't - you'll just be able to say: Like I said so... When you're optimistic, the dissapointment is sometimes just to much to handle... Today, I wrote a list of midseason premiere dates, andI put it on my board... It's short. Really short. Until today, the fall premiere dates were there - and that list was gigantic. Today I finally finished my "grieving process" and said: Okay, this thing isn't going anywhere. Accept the fact that you'll be watching Big brother, American Idol, Survivor and The Biggest Loser throughout midseason... No 24, no Grey's Anatomy, no Lost (or not? =( ), no CSI, no 30 rock, no Friday night lights... Nothing...

And another scary fact is that if the strike goes on for a reaaally long time, the very few summer shows I watch will be affected by it... And then what? So you think you can dance and Hell's kitchen throughout the entire summer? And Hell's Kitchen is a big question mark cause its 4th season starts in April... No Closer, no Rescue me, maybe even no Big Brother, because of the winter edition... And after the long summer ends, the next tv season might also be affected by it... Instead of new scripted shows, we'll be getting even more reality junk (American Gladiators this January? You have GOT to be kidding me...), and the genre will just grow even stronger... Maybe we won't even get our regular shows...

They started fighting now... And since the holiday are coming, who knows when and IF they'll return to the negotiating table - because if the AMPTP gives its last, take it or leave it, deal, it's not gonna happen anytime soon... They're just too proud... Woooow... Even if they do start talking again, who knows how long it'll take them to make a deal... We all thought when they announced their first negotiations since "it" began that it would end... How funny. How sad.

Instead of a 9 months of real television, we're getting 9 months of summer stuff... And it sucks... I'm not optimistic anymore. They won't make a deal anytime soon, I'm sure. I'm done. :(
