[QUOTE="Greatgone12"][QUOTE="Bloodbath_87"][QUOTE="Greatgone12"][QUOTE="Bloodbath_87"] Metal has always been different than rock. Everything about it is different.Bloodbath_87
Metal is a form of rock, so how can everything about it be different?

I guess that when it started it was a form of rock, but since then it has become its own genre.

Vague statements are making your point so incredibly clear.

Listen to bands that are classified as "metal", then listen to ones which are classified as "rock". You should see a huge difference...that's enough of a point.

Yeah, but to someone who is not an avid listener, it's all the same.

It's like trance, techno, trip-hop, etc... It all sounds the same to me.

[QUOTE="Greatgone12"]Rap. There's a higher percentage of **** rock than there is rap.R0cky_Racc00n

wow i think the complete opposite :P

sorry but singing about shoes or somethng like that isn't my thing :|

old rap i will admit is good though

There is an equal ammount of crap in every genre...except country, which is all crap.

I like them both.

What's with peoples dislike of country?Seems like a horribly broad generalization.

I didn't say anything generalizing about it. I only said I dislike it and think it's all crap. Which is my opinion.

I find it hard to believe that someone can think all Country is bad because some of it is some of the best music and it sounded like a generalization of popular CMT country...but if you've been open to it and it's just not your thing then that's cool.

I can't relate to any of the country music I have heard, and I just don't think it sounds good.

[QUOTE="-Sluggo-"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"]

Rock, mainly. Rock has had a longer history, and as such, has had the greater opportunity of having great artists.

Rap, on the other hand, has suffered from having prominent artists who do not fully realize the potential of the genre. >_>

PannicAtack

That's true for the mainstream artists.

Underground is where it is at.

Perhaps.

Though someone posted a thread about 'good underground artists' and linked a few. I clicked on the first link, and I wasn't impressed at all.

Well...not everything will float your boat. Same goes for every genre though.

[QUOTE="DarkPrinceXC"]Anything over rap pretty much. DarkPrinceXC

Even country?

Yeah, I like a lot of country music. New stuff, I'm not a fan of Oldies Country. ;)

Eww.

I get headaches and get very angry when listening to country.

When I say I listen to country, it means Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, Rascal Flatts, etc. More of the popular stuff.

When I say eww. I mean Eww.

I cannot listen to any song by any one of those people.

To each his own. But Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" is so beautiful..... :(

I agree with that. It's just not for me.
