Gamestop has 5 years left, tops. Downloads/streaming are going to take over. Just look at Steam... Gamestop doesn't sell PC games for the most part anymore. They never had a large selection of PC games here. But GameStop isn't going anywhere anytime soon. But the Xbox news is troubling for the console.

The 360 came in third this generation.
*Shrugs* I think that claim by Sony was debunked, but even if true, it doesn't matter who edges ahead of who before the generation ends. Both the PS3 and the X360 have had good runs and offered a wide variety of games to consumers (yes, MS has taken its eye off the ball in recent years, but its third party supporters haven't).
I wasn't using Sony as a source. And I have a 360 dude.
