I hate how modern societies value excessive procreation, it's completely irresponsible. We're already taking up more space than we should and destroying natural ecosystems to support ourselves, but it's just not enough, we can't stop until we run out of resources to ravage. There was an articel in National Geographic about a polygamist who had 46 kids and I thought the same thing, I don't really have a problem with polygamy, but we've really got to start being more responsible about how fast we procreate.

what are you, a neo-malthusian. we're human, we adapt and change.

i recently bought a wii (resort pack). i checked on the net for new games and had to go through so much shovelware just to find a handful of good games. there really isnt much choice for people who want "core" games.

Out of 1.57 bilion muslims on this planet, the only ones we hear about in the media are extremists, so its no surprise people think they are ALL like that. I don't think a story about open, accepting, non violent muslims would make a very interesting news story.

100% correct, no one seems to undersrtand this. normal muslims are pretty much like any other boring person. extremists sell

i never understood the point of the cartoons, i'm all for freedom of speec and expression but what was the point. as a muslim i wasnt offended cos i have better things to do than get upset over some stupid drawings but the cartoonists should have known if you draw prohet muhammed (pbuh) as a terrorist or with a bomb turban then there will be consequences for his actions. what was the point of the cartoons?

this thing about women in islam is confusing for one main reason. you have to seperate the culture from religion. i'm a british pakistani (and muslim) and my parents were from pakistan. they are semi relgious. alot of what my parents blieve to be relgious was basically culture and tradition. you say women are treated badly in islam but that isnt true, all my cousins and sisters are fully educated and can do what they want. sure our parents might be slightly stricter to others but that a family thing. you never see the majority view in the mdeia becuase it doesnt sell. once in my hometown, we had a bishop, imam and rabbi have a discussion in and open foum and in went really well but wasnt reported becuase no one cared. but a muslim with hooks for hands says something crazy in the middle of the street and its national news.
